Remaining Issues

  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
  • Screen sharing not working in Microsoft Teams (since Beta 1, still an issue in Beta 2).

Untested Issues
Additional Notes

  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 15 Sequoia will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.
  • macOS 15 is officially supported on the following devices. If your device is not listed below, it has unfortunately been dropped by Apple. Any efforts of trying to get your Mac running macOS 15, including bugs should be discussed in this thread.

- Is the Teams screen sharing bug fixed ?
- Are we still getting annoyed with the "Allow for one week" popup, when in fact the app has all privileges ?
- Is it easier to make a window fill the screen with the "magnet" sides and corners of the screen ?
- Is Xcode 15 still impossible to open without a workaround ?

I've been testing Sequoia since yesterday and it's pretty much the bugs / problems I've found.
Reading the release notes, I think in the end this round of major software update will be as stable a they were like 10 years ago. I hope so.

Long list of resolutions in the release notes 💪. However, I notice there is a new API for screen sharing, so I doubt Teams screen sharing is fixed….unless they put ‘new feature’ on that API on every release note since B1….

They've changed the screen permission dialogue so you can defer the next prompt for a week, which is slightly better but doesn't really fix the issue.

I do not know about Microsoft Teams, someone else added that to the beta thread, and it seems like an app specific issue.
- Are we still getting annoyed with the "Allow for one week" popup, when in fact the app has all privileges ?
In 15.0, it's now a month. 15.1 has yet to have this fixed quite yet.

I am not sure what you mean by this.

It will be impossible to open Xcode 15 because Apple wants developers looking ahead and making sure their apps are great on the newest platforms, not behind. Sonoma, Xcode 14 was impossible, Ventura, Xcode 13 was impossible. Previous version will not work on the next version.

Still nothing about the kernel panics I encountered and reported with W6800X Duo GPUs on 2019 Mac Pro.

I moved those GPUs to another machine running Sonoma 14.6.1 and I'm not keen to upgrade it to Sequoia at all.

Anyone else think the summarization feature has improved somehow from the first beta?

Anyone else finding that this build (15.1 beta 2) does not allow full refresh rate functionality with external monitor?

M3 Macbook Ai, 32" Kuycon 4k external monitor. Clamshell mode or open. Monitor has always run at its native 144hz with this build is limited to 120hz.

The update to 15.1. Beta 2 is not showing up in System Settings. :(

I cleared some caches tried some terminal command, of course rebooted and even shut down completely, but nothing...

Already thought about downgrading to 15.0 Beta 5 before because of the long release schedule for 15.1 Betas, but there is only a full installer for Beta 5 and it's on 6 now. I also can't just overwrite the installation without creating a USB install disk for example.

Or is there maybe any link for a direct incremental update? Then I could wait if the next beta will not skip a 15.0 Beta again.

Yes, I refreshed very often, even disabled beta updates and turned it on again. Trying now since over 10 hours.

The spinnig wheel is also taking very long, before I get the message there is no update.

External disks via mass storage mode (camera) is not showing. (plugged directly via USB) It pops up as untitled but says ZERO ITEMS - big problem for creatives. MacOS 15.1 Beta 2

The Final solution to get the update was activating Apple Intelligence and Siri and therefore changing the location setting again.

Downgrading to 15.0 wasn't possible with the full installer directly running in 15.1 and trying a bootable USB-Drive with that installer wasn't recognized as a Startup Disk anywhere. But that could have maybe been my fault, I might have used some outdated method to create that.

But the really bad thing is, you can't do a recovery on your main drive in Sequoia because there is only 15.0 on the recovery partition and it is considered as a downgrade and not allowed when 15.1 is installed.
