Should the macOS Sierra Theme Also Be Developed For Tiger?

Here's the Tiger Sierra Theme build 1. Included in the archive is a new search.bundle (changes the Spotlight icon in the menu bar), Finder.rsrc (changes the finder window buttons), and Extras.rsrc (everything else). search.bundle goes in /System/Library/CoreServices, replacing the original. Finder.rsrc goes in /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder/Contents/Resources, replacing the original. Extras.rsrc, of course, goes in /System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/HIToolbox.framework/Versions/A/Resources, replacing the original. BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL FILES before replacing them!!!!!!

This theme is for Tiger only. The Extras.rsrc will work with Leopard with CoreUI disabled, but the Finder.rsrc and search.bundle will hose your system!

There is still some work to be done, and some cleanup afterwards, so I'm declaring this one build number 1.

Again, I am not responsible for anyone hosing their system, so use at your own risk!!!

(The errant pixels that you see within the Finder gear and path buttons, as shown in the first picture, have been fixed)
So I take it that the existing dock, font, and things like that, work with Tiger already? You're running Tiger up there, right? Anyway, thanks so much for this. I don't currently have Tiger installed on anything but I'll get it installed and try it out.

Oh, and one more thing, are you recommending that we uninstall your previous Extras files from Leopard?

Yes I am running Tiger. I haven't figured out the dock resources yet (they're different between Tiger and Leopard... WAY different), so I just use Unsanity's Cleardock and color it myself. The font will work fine, and you can replace it in the same way as you did in Leopard (/System/Library/Fonts).

You can still use this new Extras.rsrc, or any of my older ones, in Leopard if you like, as long as CoreUI is disabled. Just don't use the Finder.rsrc or search.bundle from that archive in Leopard.

You can create your own AboutThisMac.nib by editing the one posted earlier in this thread in Interface Builder. I prefer that my OS states what it actually is, but others prefer it to say Sierra or Leopard-Sierra (or Tiger-Sierra). I'll just not post it unless someone asks for it. I'm still considering what graphic to put in mine...

So I can use the exact same .nib files for the About This Mac screen?

Yeah. I edited mine because I didn't want it to say Leopard under Tiger (I grabbed the Leopard-modded one), but the Sierra one should work with no problem. They didn't really change anything with AboutThisMac between Tiger and Leopard other than the OS information.
[doublepost=1478733681][/doublepost]By way of comparison, I'm using this Yosemite Flavours theme on Mountain Lion as a reference, as well as my own Sierra iMac. I even snagged some of the resources for this theme from Flavours. Here's a shot of the Flavours-themed Blackbook-

@swamprock, perhaps with permission from the original project starters the Tiger theme should become a separate thread. Then it would be easier to follow each different project and suggest/share things about them. By the way, your Tiger theme is looking great! The Blackbook screenshot looks just like the Tiger theme!
[doublepost=1478738209][/doublepost]I just love doing this. ;)
I just put together an installer package for your Tiger theme, if there's interest. It includes what you have put up for download as well as an About This Mac window that I modified and a new login window background (blurred Sierra image). No icons yet, those will come in my next package (they take forever to do). I'll test later tonight; the software updates are still installing on my Tiger Mac.

Go ahead and set it up if you think it should be in a new thread. I'll keep an eye out for it.

The theme is by no means finished, so I'd mention that if you wish to put an installer together.

OK, I'll start a new thread if it's OK with you. Thanks! And if anybody working on the real theme wants me to take it down, I can take down the file and then update the original post.

Its the same file across the board, I will just change the title of my post. Don't want this theme to be as fragmented as Apple's current product line :D

I find it interesting that while work is being done to theme Tiger/Leopard to look like Sierra, I'm making a theme for Sierra to make it look like the old Aqua in Tiger/Leopard. Make old look new and new look old. We're never satisfied. :D

Everyone has their preference, I guess. I actually prefer the older UI, but I'm still going to run the Sierra theme to feel like I'm using a modern Mac. I'll be I can fool a lot of people also. :D

I'm in the process of creating some iCloud applications that are actually made be me, and not Fluid or TFFb. This allows a cleaner look in the title bar and menus and more control. I'll have them here for download once I finish if anybody wants them.
EDIT: Actually, just read back in the other thread (El Cap thread) and it seems some things won't work correctly, sorry. I may not make these.

In your macbook 2006, you can use Cdock, its better than the dock theme.
Also is possible installing an unsupported version of OSX in it. Yosemite for sure, El captain maybe...

I swear you said almost the same exact thing on my ElCap theme thread months ago!
I know the post you're thinking of, but it isn't mine. :)
Reading through this thread sorta makes me chuckle,
Here we are trying our hardest to make our old Leopard systems look like the newer El-Capitan, while at the same time I've just redone my El-Capitan machine to take it back to a more retro 3D style.
note the 3D traffic liights, colored sidebar icons and toned down folder colors...

[doublepost=1479306460][/doublepost]My customizations are a bit different from what was done there, and the traffic lights are fully custom instead of using the ones from Mavericks.

I think I have a solution to some icon problems. @redheeler pointed out in the beginning of the El Cap that you should optimize icons for Leopard. That solves the TFF downloading bug, and I was having a problem with iChat where the icon would disappear but the little number badge will show up. An optimized icon would probably fix this. Anyway, redheeler showed a way to optimize icons, but what's easier, to me anyway, is to use a program in Apple's developer tools called Icon Composer. It lets you create an icon very easily, and it's pretty self-explanatory. to use It creates .icns files. If you don't have the developer tools installed, I'll post the app here, but I can't promise it will open. It might crash on startup.

Best of luck to you. I tried everything and gave up fast.
My plan might be a big buggy, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work. I don't think anybody has come up with this idea yet, so hopefully I can at least get some helpful information.
[doublepost=1479581505][/doublepost]Does anybody know where to find a download of the Liger theme for Tiger?
[doublepost=1479581661][/doublepost]Never mind, I found it.

I have personally a non blurred version of it, and it uses 10% CPU all the time (on an intel), And hides when showing the desktop
[doublepost=1479596279][/doublepost]Do you guys have any brand new backups of the dock, My backups aren't new.
