I tried this and I can’t get use to it. Maybe I’ll try again.Try the new Arc browser. It will blow your socks off when it comes to tab management.

That’s right, and IIRC iCloud for windows also has support for keychain passwords in Edge too.Interesting, I know there’s been that keychain extension for Chrome for Windows for a while now, but it’d be cool to have this option on other MacOS browsers.
1password is not something I no longer recommend
It’d be pretty damning if this was the only thing keeping people on Safari. But now who is going to use Safari? Can't believe Tim let this get through.
Everyone will move to Chrome and Apple will stop developing Safari. It is this sort of lock-in that kept people on Safari. When everyone leaves they will just kill it off and we will all be forced to use something else.
Imagine if they start letting 3rd party browsers properly on iOS or iPadOS. It's going to be an absolute mess.
This is why Apple can absolutely NEVER let iMessage outside of the Apple ecosystem. I'm getting all sweaty just thinking about it.
Using a simple PIN code to secure one's iPhone is foolish. None of us would use a four digit PIN for our Macs. Same should be true for our iPhones.Until they stop securing the passwords with the iphone PIN code, not even something I'd consider.
I agree that password don't belong in any cloud.nope sorry, passwords will still remain in my head. nice try tim apple
And yet the average person has 100 passwords. I picked the lowest one I found. One article says a person has an average of 191 passwords
Not sure where you got that text from but the actual description of the new extension says this:From the extension description:
"iCloud Passwords is a Chrome extension for Windows users that allows you to use the same strong Safari passwords you create on your iPhone, iPad or Mac when visiting websites in Chrome on your Windows PC."
A lot of people missed your sarcasm.nope sorry, passwords will still remain in my head. nice try tim apple
Please see Post #127 in the following thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1password-remigrant-thread.2386803/page-6Am I missing something? I use Safari and Brave and I can auto fill both using 1Password with no issues.
Strange… I recollect being able to use macOS keychain with Camino (a Firefox-based browser with a Cocoa interface) way back… when did Apple stop supporting the keychain with 3rd party apps?
The macOS Sonoma update that is in testing allows Mac owners who opt to use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or another browser to use Apple's Password Manager for filling passwords.

Developers and public beta testers running macOS Sonoma can use their iCloud Keychain passwords with non-Safari browsers at this time, autofilling passwords and one-time codes. Third-party browsers can also save new passwords.
Apple has made an iCloud Passwords Chrome extension available for macOS Sonoma users, and it can be downloaded and installed to access Apple passwords on the Chrome browser or any Chromium-based browser. Apple has also provided an extension for Microsoft Edge users.
Google and other browser developers are also working on implementing support for Passkeys, the password alternative that Apple introduced last year.
