Waiting for OCLP 3.0 for Tahoe, let’s hope that in the meantime there will be an intermediate final release of OCLP 2.5 for Sequoia (which is working well, as a nightly build: no big problems, so far)…

Edit: As for the “Kernal” misspelling in the name of the downloaded disk image (see also previous posts), luckily the installer package inside the image is named correctly: KernelDebugKit.pkg.

So, probably, the OCLP KDK mirror didn’t sync the latest 26.4.1 KDK because of this “kernal” spelling error…?
That may explain KDK 26.4.1, but the Dortania mirror did not pull KDK 15.7.4 for Sequoia and it is spelled correctly.

On another note, I am finding that Tahoe 26.4 and 26.5 performance gets much better following a waiting period after the initial boot and login. I'm now in the habit of letting Tahoe sleep instead of shutting down, so that I don't experience the startup lags associated with Tahoe. I'm using Tahoe now as my "production" macOS on multiple Intel platforms (with and without graphics dGPU) and performance is very good.

For Tahoe 26.4.1 use newest OCLP mod 3.1.8 . However, of all the different versions, OCLP mod 3.xxx is the most advanced. And there are frequent updates too.
OCLP-Mod is mainly For Hackintoshes That want Audio and Wireless support without Waiting For the Official OCLP Release for Tahoe, OCLP-Mod Does not Support real Macs at all. Nor OCLP-X Or OCLP-PLUS. These are For hackintoshes!!

Yes, of course, OCLP is designed for genuine Mac computers. I can’t see any reason why OCLP-mod 3...xxx wouldn’t work. Of course, you’ll need to adjust some settings. There won’t be an official version of OCLP 3.0. Mainly because the old graphics cards can’t be integrated on the Tahoe. That’s why OCLP-mod is limited to just WiFi/audio/USB. You can only use this on an original Mac or a Hackintosh.

Both OCLP Mod and OCLP Plus are primarily intended for Hackintoshes, which are not the topic of this thread.

What might work perfectly on a Hackintosh doesn't necessarily work on a regular Mac.
Nevertheless, in my experience with OCLP Mod on my iMac 18.3, as previously reported (see #1,127), audio and LAN work — Wi-Fi, however, remains unavailable.
That will likely continue to be reserved for OCLP developers on regular Macs.

OCLP Plus didn't even work for audio. on my iMac 18.3 .

So we still wait very patiently for what's to come. 😉

No WLAN here on my iMac 18.3 - just Audio & USB.

On our service , we use OCLP-mod successfully for both Hackintoshes and genuine Macs. Of course, every case is different, and you’ll find people everywhere who haven’t managed to get it to work. The official version of OCLP won’t change anything here. It used to be easy, but using OCLP isn’t quite so straightforward now.
The fact that there are several different versions of the OCL mod – I think there are three at the moment – doesn’t exactly make things any easier. Each one may work differently and has different settings. I stick to the most advanced version, the OCLP-mod by Laobamac.

Does OCLP detect your Modern Wi-Fi?
I would say so.

I don't know how good your Catonenese is—mine's practically nonexistent.

But I rolled back the patches and restarted to see what OCLP-Mod 3.1.8 offered: it's the usual three things like audio, graphics, and Wi-Fi.

I confirmed the installation; you can see from the log that Broadcom BCM43xx is listed, among other things .....

..., but after the usual restart, I have audio and graphics working, but Wi-Fi remains inactive.

Therefore, I suspect that the effect of OCLP-Mod 3.1.8 (& OCLP Plus 3.1.9) varies on a Hackintosh (that's what both forks were made for).
My network remains limited to LAN as long as there's no Wi-Fi. But at least I can use Tahoe 26.4.1. 😉

I assume the audio patch indeed should work across all hackintoshes. Since it's just putting in appleHDA in /system/library/extensions. Can I ask, does Audio work on your system with OCLP-MOD?

@amaze1499

After almost six years of using OCLP, it's safe to assume I already know that the patches need to be reapplied after every update.
But thanks for clarifying it for others as well. 😉

In your opinion, after which event should I try turning it off and then on again?

Yes - Audio works on my iMac 18.3 with patches made by OCLP-Mod.

In regards to OCLP-Mod and OCLP Plus for Mac Users:

OCLP-Mod: it's a dead end. The guy is a 17 year old pupil. And from what I read on discord, he basically forked the OCLP repo, lifted the macOS version limit, enabled injection of an AppleHDA from a beta Tahoe build which didn''t utilize the T2 chip for handling audio and that's about it. No development in regards to GPU/iGPU patches is going on there. So not usable on real Macs for macOS Tahoe.

OCLP-Plus
: dead end as well. Actually, I don't even know what the "plus" is supposed to be (besides the english GUI). In my case, it didn't even manage to detect Modern WiFi Patches which OCLP-Mod does without issues. I've created an issue report but the guy totally went off the rail and deflected each argument. In the end he even deleted my issue report. Don't expect any progress from this dev – especially on real Macs with macOS Tahoe.

If a 17-year-old managed to do what the OCLP team couldn’t, all we can do is congratulate him )
It seems that OCLP-mod is the most advanced version, with very frequent updates. We’re currently halfway through OS 26.4.1, whilst others haven’t even started.
It seems that the biggest advantage of OCLP-Plus is the English language version. However, I’m still using OCLP-mod for now. In one of my videos, there’s a step-by-step guide with a translation.

I think some people have got a bit confused. The fact is that thanks to OCLP-mod, Tahoe has become available for Hackintosh – or perhaps not for all Mac users.
Let’s turn the situation around and consider what would have happened if the OCLP forks hadn’t been created at all? Would you have been happy then? Distinguishing between Hackintosh and genuine Macs is pointless. Because we’re talking about exactly the same macOS Tahoe system here. But as you well know, Hackintosh has fewer hardware limitations than a genuine Mac.

Seeking alternative solutions is a natural consequence of the discontinuation of the official OCLP. And any action in this direction can be considered positive.

Of course, there will never be an official OCLP 3.0. I wrote about this a few months ago. Nobody is going to revisit a project that was abandoned many months ago. This is a statement of fact, not speculation.

You post your opinions without any basic fact checking, most recent patches for OCLP 3.0 release were committed two weeks ago:

You post your opinions without bothering to check facts or sources, OCLP 3.0 got a commit by a developer two weeks ago. Stop spreading ********. Developers (in this discussion) alot of times said the project will continue but they can't promise when ( that's why most of the time devs will say "when it's ready"). So Before posting maybe give a small care to check what you say.

Exactly, and infact the patches made are for graphics AMD GCN so work is being done and OCLP 3.0.0 isn't "dead" or "never going to release"

Yes and if you look at the history of the commits, the refactoring of the support for legacy METAL GPUs is happening since December.
Basically, @bombardier10 if you want to share something, check your sources and don't share BS. Because anyone with an IQ above 16 can check the GitHub commit history and throw your opinion or "facts" in the trash. Have a good day
