Another triple!
Another triple platelets donation with San Diego Blood Bank on 6/26. It's always so annoying to watch so many others come and get done quicker than you because of doing this long routine. But so good, knowing the good that I'm doing.

One last donation before the end of June
One more platelet donation before the end of June. Hooked up to the machine as I type this. Also managed to bring in a friend for a whole blood donation today.
Thanks for promoting the blood drive over the past two months. Let's make it an annual event!

Well the Blood Drive draws to a close today!
I would like to thank everyone for taking part and also Doctor Q and Arn for their support and helping to develop and promote the blood drive.
It has been a huge success and it would be nice to run the blood drive every year - so look out for the "Annual MacRumors Blood Drive #2" next year!
It is amazing to think of the MacRumors community coming together to promote something that betters other Humans and I hope the blood drive has emphasised the view that your blood donation is not merely a drop in the ocean - it really does make a big difference.

The MacRumors Blood Drive has ended although the need for blood donations continues. We hope the blood drive has gotten more people involved in donating blood and platelets and that all of you will continue to help people in need. Those who can't donate themselves can help spread the word.
Members of our community donated a total of 48 units of blood and 25 units of platelets during our blood drive. That's a total of 73 units, more than one per day, an impressive group achievement for our first-ever blood drive.
Thank you for your support and encouragement and thanks as well to those who used their forum signature to promote the blood drive.

I always donate blood when i can. Last month in June i donated two units of blood platelets.
most people are scared to donate. but it is a life saving for those who receive the blood. the reason why i donate is because a few times in my sister's life she has needed blood. ever since than i'll donate a couple times a year. you will never know who's life you have saved, but they are grateful to those who give. i hope i can still make the list.

I missed it My blood draw was 7 July2019
Sorry I couldn't schedule the draw sooner but I have to wait the 56 days since last donation. I was able to give whole blood.

Nice work! I'm glad to see the donations continuing.
Fact of the day: According to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, one in 30 people will donate blood in their lifetime while one in three people will need blood at some point in their life.

People can donate money to charitable organizations that support or publicize blood donation, organ donation, joining the bone marrow registry, and other acts of medical charity.
But don't discount the value of encouraging others to donate blood. When your word-of-mouth gets people to realize the need and take the step of donating blood a couple of times, they may make it a habit and keep donating for years. Your initial encouragement may save dozens of lives down the road.
It's May once again and we're having our second annual Blood Drive.
