I had the same problem to collect my mug from the local post office.

I had to pay an additional £3.60 for customs, and then a £4.00 handling fee to the Royal Mail!!

An expensive mug (although I'm glad a glass mug made it OK!), but I'd rather have given the additional cash as a contribution to MacRumors than the over-bloated customs pockets!!:mad: :mad:

I must have gotten lucky somehow or other, because when my mug arrived i didn't have to pay any duties on it at all.

For future reference though, would it be possible to pay less for the mug, so as to avoid import duties for all who do not live in the US, and then simply pay the balance by paypal (or some service of that sort)?
