MacRumors Fantasy Football Thread

I'm pretty happy with my result for the weekend, though my main production didn't come from who I expected...
Hopefully the big guns will pick it up next week. It was nice to get a goal from RVP, though, and be able to root for Arsenal at the same time.
 
Hmmm not a bad weekend, I got 43 pts. I would have had 51 but I was deducted 8 points for making 3 transfers, which sucks.
 
Just made some changes to my team, after Tevezs performance i thought it'd be a long time before he comes good. Also the running against Heinze means he probably won't be playing for a long time so had to get rid of him also. Lost 8 points but there you go.
 
I'm not happy with my back four - Ben Haim in particular has been shaky, and I only took Spector because he's American. ;) But I had to dump McBride due to his injury, so I picked up Kanu. I hope he scores some goals!

I had Kanu pre season due to his performances last year but in the new line up at portsmouth i don't think he'll get that many at all, so swapped him out.
 
You know, as soon as I did the transfer I wished I had taken Benjani instead...still thinking about it.

I have James and Schmeichel as keepers, so I can probably dump one for a cheap keeper and use the extra cash to get a top striker.

I have the same keepers although I dumped Reina (too any Liverpool players, wan't Torres) to get the cheaper Schmeichel. I'd say there aren't really any keepers cheaper that are worth it.
 
Cor, didn't know there was a Macrumors league - I'm in - Eastern Road Kittens (not the greatest name I know, but I was at a loss to decide what it should be, and seeing as we're fostering a litter of feral kittens at the mo.....).

Had an up and down sort of start, in particular with injuries and suspensions, but hopefully the guys I've selected will do the business for me! :D
 
I'm waiting to see if there are any injuries sustained during tonight's internationals before dabbling with the transfers – it would be just my luck to make a big signing only for him to catch leprosy or something on an overseas jaunt.
 
I wouldn't worry about the English players - all the good English players are already hurt, except Owen, and he will get injured against Germany. You know it. ;)

I'm more worried about the African Cup of Nations - a lot of first team Premier League players are going and you just know there will be a few big players getting hurt - Chelsea in particular will be holding their breath. If Drogba gets hurt they are screwed.

Luckily, I cunningly avoided signing any good English players for my team. Phew!

Indeed – I had that at the back of my mind with my selection. Of course, you have one penalty-free transfer each week so you could potentially replace your African stars in the weeks building up to the tournament.
 
A good weekend for the Gauchoholics, save the missed penalty by RVP. I was hoping for a 0-0 draw today between ManU and Spurs, but we can't be too picky, now can we?
 
Fifth place after another steady weekend. Sporting Dual-Cores aren't doing anything spectacular but are at least making steady progress – it looks like I'm going to have to find a replacement for the stricken Carragher, though. :(
 
I'm trying to pull a Sunderland '06 and amass the lowest points total ever...:eek:

I've already lost Gerrard, McBride and Carvalho to injuries - I'm holding on to Gerrard though. I took the points deduction and picked up Micah Richards and Petrov from Man City. Schmeichel is scoring a lot of my points...

Richards should be a good buy. And Schmeichel is just classy for a youngster.

I'm inclined to agree with that. I've transferred the injured Carragher and replaced him with Richards, which has also put some extra funds in my war chest for future purchases. :cool:

Of course, my buying him means that Richards will probably break both his legs in his next game, but that's the risk you take I suppose. :eek:
 
You should b be able to pick up Micah Richards for what you get for Chimbonda.

A decent day for me, but I need to start raking in the points if I'm to get off the bottom...

I went ahead and picked up Dunne; we'll see if his early season form holds up for awhile.

On another note, I really ought to have had Cesc as my captain these last two weeks, getting double points...
