I just went through and reorganized the forums a bit. Part of it was due to old non-relevant forums, another part was the design of the new site does not highlight sub-forums very well, so I flattened some of our hierarchy where I could.

Changes:

- Apple Watch broken out to its own sub section
- iOS Apps and Mac Apps now in their respective sections. Makes far more sense than apps being separate
- iPad apps merged into iOS apps. Most apps are universal, or close enough, that this makes more sense.
- Removed some old forums (launch meetups, iPod touch accessories, app store legal stuff) - these were not being used very much.
- Cleaned up iOS and Mac organization

- Still not completely happy with the Special Interests forum. Will try to get those organized better.
- May reconsider the need for Current events and an Apple Inc / Tech industry forum.
- Need to update iconography on forums with generic folder icons

Somewhat annoyed that Apple Watch is such an eyesore now. Could the sub-forums be arranged to match the iPhone and iPad, like they were before the update?

What do you mean?

The new layout is much better on the eyes, and I like that the Apple Watch group is more prominently displayed. The old drop down menu was clunky...

I mean something like this:

Could it be done?

@arn could you enable the manual verification of the new members? I know it can be a pain to have this on but I usually work nights and the amount of spam posts is very annoying.

Maybe we can find a better solution. I guess I haven't seen the spam since I'm not on then. Turning on manual verification isn't a realistic solution, but maybe we need more moderator coverage or more automated way of removing spam that gets through.

Is that UK night time?

We used to be bombarded with spam on a morning but I haven't seen as much get through since we moved to XF.

U.K. Night time

I think the issue is the spam is getting smarter. So where it stood out like a sore thumb with a title like 'download movies free' now we get 'problem with MacBook?' You click and get a list of crap

I agree with my fellow moderators, I'm not seeing the volume of spam we used too under Vb

From the reports that we get and the other tools afforded us, I'm not entirely sure we're seeing an increase in spam, or a changing of their habits.

A change of habit could be standard practice for spammers now that we've switched platforms. It wouldn't surprise me.

I hate spam, I keep an eye out for it, I quite enjoy reporting it every time I see it.

Apple/Industry Discussion is gone now? I know it did not have that much traffic, but it was kinda "special". Hmm, I like the new look, I hated clicking twice to get to not shown sub categories.

This button will probably get bullied soon by all other buttons on this site for being a fatty.. This 'Sign up' button really needs skinny jeans.
