Wow, bold move!

Considering the amount of posting you did around iPhone 3G launch, I could get used to the idea of more arn. Either-way, get some sleep.

Been reading this site (and forums) for a few years now and would like to say you did a great job. Here's to many more years!

Arn,
As a fellow physician (graduated from med school in 1998), I am amazed that you were able to do all this during your residency and fellowship. How in the world did you have the time? I have been working (albeit very slowly) on an iPhone app and having the time to do it is always the lynchpin.

Congrats!

Hi Arn,

Congratulations, I suppose you can go back into medicine later on if you so wish,

A wise man once said, find a job doing what you love and you won't have to work a day in your life.

And even if this "internet thing" peters out after a while, you've got a pretty good fall back plan...

Congrats and good luck.

Any chance of macrumor member participation/input on redesigns?
e.g. Love the leopard wiki style (wysiwyg, less hassle etc) - any chance of seeing something that can help reduce the effort in this area, guide /wiki wise?

Good Luck

It was an interesting read from the NY times. Even though I had been reading your site and following this for the longest time, I never realized your background. I wish you good luck and I am hoping you will share your vision of this site for the future. Do you ever intend to go across the Mac World?

Congratulations Arn, and will you ban that guy who marked this as a negative? ... er.. um.. oh yeah!

I note you're pulling in a 6-figure sum from this, and while I have no problem with you getting a decent return on your hard work and dedication, have you thought about putting in some for your mods - who have also worked very hard for free to build up this site too?

Congrats on the nice article, arn. More importantly, congrats on finding something you love to do that will not only offer financial support but also allows you to spend time at home with your daughter. I wish I could stay at home with my son all the time.

Not to be rude, but does this MR and your other sites really generate enough income to match/better your previous salary?

I have been visiting MacRumors ever since I purchased my first Mac 2 years ago. I :apple: am a PC Convert of 20 Years, and don;t intend on looking back ;-)

I do not post much here as I do not have much to contribute, but I felt this was one post that I felt I could.

I am thankful for this site because I believe it offers a mostly unbiased place where Mac fans and even PC fans :p can chat/bicker/poke fun but still remain civil and agree to disagree. Its also a great site for Rumors than sometimes (more often than not) become truth! I love the live feeds on Apple events, it reminds me of the days when I got excited as a child when Christmas day arrived, I even have trouble falling a sleep the night before ;)

Keep up the great work, and for all those who support MacRumors a big thanks to you as well.

Take care, and Peace be with you all.

Bravo. I admire entrepreneurs who have an idea, invest a lot of time and energy in it not knowing if it will be profitable and providing an excellent service to millions of users. The focus is on the now and its success but lets appreciate the years of toil to reach this day. All the best.

Lets all support this site as best we can.

Congrats on the article Arn.

Good choice to leave medicine - will you miss arguing with insurance companies, dealing with hospital administration, and worrying about lawsuits? Nope. Spend more time with your family and make money off your hobby. :)

Thats a good point actually, they have been doing it for free, they do a lot of work for this site

Congratulations to Arn! It was nice to see arn and MR in a NYT article.

I always use to think it was funny when people said this site only makes enough money to pay for the servers! :D I was thinking if that's true then arn needs to hire a company to help with income. Glad to see he's doing well.

Congrats Arn!

I started visiting this site in 2002 when I wanted to learn more about using Macs as I had given up PC's completely by then and OSX was standard.....so I was constantly needing guidance figuring it out since I was used to OS9. I finally realized I was visiting this site EVERYDAY so I joined in 2003 and have been a daily visitor since.

Thanks for keeping the site going Arn and thanks to all those who assist Arn with making this a pleasant forum for more than just Apple related topics.
