I really wish I had gotten a photo with Arn back in 2008 when he told me he was now doing macrumors full time. I was really happy for him. Back then, going "legit" and making blogging your profession was super rare. Big media companies started embracing the word blog but not in any high profile capacity but macrumors, ThinkSecret, apple insider were actually making some money and it's nice that macrumors lasted so long and is still going strong. I think it's now the most vibrant Mac community on the internet.

Also thanks editorial team for doing better about posts about referral programs. you've changed it up where those posts that do make the site money are more or less only put up when there's a big sale or giveaway. It makes my RSS feed feel less "ad-ridden" but 3-4 years ago, I nearly unsubscribed from all of the "ads as posts" so I can say you got through that phase and have started adding a lot of value even though they are still ads. Thanks for that.

I bet if I could go back to then and tell yourselves what it (and Apple) would be now, you'd laugh me out the room!

Incredible job. Here's hoping the Mac still lives on for another 20 so you don't need a name change!

There are 6 forum accounts that registered in 2000 that have been active in 2020.

That's not bad, considering 1) we were tiny in 2000. 2) I'm not sure when the forums even were launched. I think I migrated people over from an early commenting system, so some of the register dates might not be 100% accurate.

20 years already... I registered my current account in 2018, but I had one about 10 years prior, and have been occasionally viewing since the start.

One of the only websites I still frequent, with DSLReports being another but it has gone down in members since the late 2000s.

Congratulations! Quite a feat is 20 years in technology. To 20 more of impeccable coverage for all things Apple and beyond.

We all have our own stories of how we each would become Macrumors readers. In my case, I had been a Slashdot reader for years. Many of the stories I would follow tended to be Apple-specific and were often rumor-based. Eventually I began to realize most of those stories were being reported by way of some little site called "Mac Rumors". This must have been around 2005 when I first became a regular reader. A couple of years later, I created an account for the purpose of posting comments.

I always love reading the iPod comments, so many people show they have no idea what will sell...

Congrats guys!

While we have all fussed and argued and debated things ranging from best phone to Windows vs PC and all of the unmentionable things is PSRI we're all family, and deep down still respect everyone as a human being.

Except Macflynn!

NAW just kidding. LOL

It's been great and hope you have many more decades to come.

More numbers please... like, how many members/visits and so on....

Keep it up, and again...congrats.

Congratulations to all of you at MacRumors! You have been my go-to source for all things Apple on almost a daily basis. Keep up the great work and CHEERS!

Congrats! I created this account back when I was in college and still a student, but it still works :)

MacRumors has been my top source of Mac News since 2001 and I have probably read every single story via RSS or the main site in the last 19 years. Keep up the great work and I look forward to the next 20 :)

Happy Birthday MacRumors 🥳 and congratulations, and thank you to everyone involved in keeping the site running!

Tim Cook could at least acknowledge the site in his keynote for helping to build, evangelize and maintain an active community for so long.
