Congratulations. I only joined in 2012, but since then, it’s become a daily part of my routine. I check in at least 3-4 times a day and love the forums too! Here’s to the next 20.

MacRumors has been one of my top news sources. I love Apple products, but I especially love the community around them. Sure, we have a bit of an ego, but overall we are brand loyalist who encourage Apple to continue to innovate and bring great (not OK or average) products to market. Proud to be here! And I hope to see MacRumors continue for as many years and more!

Congratulations 🎂🍎
To be honest:
If there is something about Apple, it is at MacRumors, I learn about it first.
If I want to discuss something about my Apple i-Stuff, (as strange, as it ever might be...) I do it at MacRumors - often discovering, that someone else already started a discussion about it...

Not that bad at all 😃

Congrats guys - a great informative website with an equally great community. 20 years is impressive for anything, let alone a website. Myself I can’t believe I have been around since 2008!

A big thing that separates MacRumors from other Apple news sites is the community. I love interacting with everyone on the forums as much as I love reading the articles. Here's to another 20 :)
Best Mac site by a long shot. I hardly ever visit the others.

It's hard to believe, but today marks the 20th birthday of MacRumors, which was founded on February 24, 2000, with articles starting just a few days later.

While longtime readers may be familiar with the site's origins, there are plenty of others who are unaware that it began as a hobby while our founder Arnold Kim was a medical student, and it remained a side project for over eight years until he decided to give up medicine to focus on MacRumors as a full-time career. That backstory and additional perspective were shared in a July 2008 New York Times article.

I officially joined MacRumors on January, 1, 2009, but I had served as a volunteer forum staff member and occasional writer for several years prior and had been a regular reader almost since the site's debut. Over that time, I saw MacRumors grow from a niche aggregator of news about a beloved company looking to raise itself from the dead to the behemoth it is today, riding the wave of one hit product after another with the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and more.

Through the years, we've added additional writers, editors, and other staff members, with the team now numbering roughly a dozen dedicated folks who live and breathe Apple news and rumors.

We've covered plenty of major Apple news stories over the years, and here are just a few of the biggest ones:
And don't forget about the MacRumors Buyer's Guide, which has been providing at-a-glance buying recommendations based on Apple's product release schedules for 17 years now.

It's been a long ride, and we certainly couldn't have done it without our loyal readers and forum members. For two decades now, MacRumors has been known for its active and passionate community that has itself reached nearly a million registered members and over 27 million forum posts. If you're not a member, we invite you to register for our forums and add your voice to our community.

To all of you who have helped make MacRumors what it is today, thank you, and here's to another 20 years.

I've only been here for about a year and three months, but congratulations MacRumors! 🥳

Here's to another 20 years for you and me!

Congrats to MR on your 20th year anniversary. It’s great to have a platform with so many posters who share their passion about Apple ...delighted at times and in disbelief at times...

I remember the rumors of the legendary G5 PowerBook and all the hilarious mockups that came with it...only to be vaporware due to thermal issues and then the reactions of MR members when Steve Jobs renamed the PowerBook “MacBook Pro”.

The other one that comes to mind was the tampon sounding “iPad” naming.

Great memories.

Felicitations MacRumors, Arn, staff and mods.

I first came across this site trying to find out what the specs of the next PowerMac would be. Then I found out that the MacWorld expo would be in San Fransisco that coming January 2001. I waited and was glad I did. As I ended up with a G4 DA instead of a G4 GigE.

While my current profile is from 2004. I know I made some posts from 2001 to 2003 with a long forgotten username and email address. As I recall. I didn't like my username so just made a new one. I wanted something unique and fitting for a Mac user.

This is a good tech site, and it’s the only source that I use in terms of not finding just Apple news, but other tech related info as well.

The reason I really like MacRumors, is how streamlined the discussions are set up, the new forum migration is pretty decent for the most part and it’s overall very well structured website in terms of trying to find various pieces of information for research/discussion and overall Participation.

And let’s not forget the moderators, they are a huge reason why this site operates and functions the way it does. If it wasn’t for them, it wouldn’t be tolerable.

The power of Macrumors is the community.

It doesn’t get leaks, it doesn’t break news the fastest, and sometimes, it’s painful they are pushing content for views.

But it’s a great site, and the community is second to none. I like visiting here.
