Lol, just plug it into the iPhone wall charger. I do this so I will never forget the band since I need to remove it to charge my phone.

I got mine fuelband last week and it's awesome. Good motivation and simple use. but i have couple of questions...

1) do you use nike+ connect software?
2) do you know how long does it stay connected with iphone after sync? sometimes it's quick disconnect but sometimes it's a long connection and that trashes my battery on iphone and fuelband.

Any tips and tricks?


p.s.: im doing around 2-4k a day. depending on activity.

1) You have to download it but I never use it. It's only pretty helpful since it tells you where your highest activity began.

2) It stays on for less than a minute. My tip to you is to just sync it at the end of the day before you go to bed. That way, if it does stay synced for a bit longer, you may be asleep any way and the phone is charging.

I wish to buy Nike+ FuelBand. But don't like that my data will be in cloud. Wish nice diagrams with local software for OS X and local data.

Is this possible?
Is the user forced to create a Nike account?

As far as I know, it isn't possible I'm afraid.

During the setup of the fuelband, you're forced to sign into Nike+ so if you don't have an account at that point, you'll have to create one.
 
sorry for double posting, but in my country fuelband can't be purchased therefore nobody has it and i have no friends to compete with.

If you can't use it while you swim, is there a way to manually update your days activity with the distance you swam?
 
I'm considering buying this but the reviews have been poor about the product not syncing or the product breaking. I just want to keep track of my daily activity and sync it to my phone at the end of the night. Can any macrumor users let me know how they like/dislike the product?
 
How does this gizmo work with biking? it's about the only thing I can do with my shot knees so I'm just curious.
 
I have one. I really like it. Had a couple syncing issues before, but it's never broken on me. *knocks on wood*
 
I don't have one but my mother does. There's one thing that confuses me, it accumulates steps while she's sitting. How's that possible?

Also, I've seen a lot of kids with Fuelbands on, it makes me laugh when I see it on a 7 year old.

I've had mine for about 6 months. Not had any issues with syncing but a firmware update did render it useless, Nike replaced it with a brand new one which was good as i'd got it from eBay was partially used :D
 
Anyone have any tips to keep these things clean? Out of the shower (my black colored band) looks shiny, like it was out of the box. As it dries, it starts looking like a sad, old rubber band.
