Here,

BTW: This can all be undone, I just figured we should go ahead. if everyone agrees we can repeal the last two challenges.

Let's pause challenges until we hear from renewed

Hey everyone, sorry, I thought I was supposed to wait for official word or something. I didn't realize you were supposed to post the next challenge with your completion of the previous challenge as I didn't see anyone else doing that. And, the last challenge winner didn't post his next challenge until the next day so I thought I at least had until today. I have a challenge ready if you guys would like for me to go ahead and post it. Plus, does this game run consistently through the weekend as well? I know a lot of people have real life interruptions during the weekends and it's hard to post.

Maybe Renewed can give some general guidelines as far as weekends, time frames for posting the next challenge, and who judges the validity of a challenge picture?

Sorry. I think we should repeal the last challenges and let you do yours. Let's see what Renewed says.

Mutiny ?

Isn't that taking the sugar away from the baby ?

I wouldn't call it mutiny, I'm not saying we should rebel or neglect the rules.
I'm just saying the the executive branch (the OP) should appoint a few people (that he knows) to help him run the Scavenger Hunt.

Well, at least intellectual property.

I also thought that mscriv was next, but I'm just appearing here as amicus curiae. ;)

EDIT: Oh, and Sir Demi, please try not to be so blatant in your play.

Yeah. Hence why I think he should appoint a few people.

Yeah we should oust him like apple ousted steve jobs in 1986. Except renewed deserves it. Let's take a vote. If five people thumbs up appointing a few people to run this thread we shall do it. I'll start with my thumbs up.

I think Renewed's absence is most likely a weekend thing. I know I'm typically very busy on the weekends and that's why I think we need some general guidelines. Since Renewed plays this game on another forum as well he can probably tell us how they manage it over there.

That being said. I think probably the easiest way is to say the poster of the challenge has final say over whether someone's submission meets the criteria as they are the one's who set forth the challenge. For example, if fun173 wanted to veto my submission for not having the MR sign on paper then he would have the authority to do so or he could let it stand, as it would appear he intended to do. I think it might be too much for us to expect one person to monitor the thread consistently as both the judge and time enforcer. Most of the photography challenges on this forum run without a "moderator" as the participants monitor themselves with each winner playing the judge and jury for the next challenge. So, if you want to play then you know you are committing to at least the time involved to judge the next round in the event that you win.

Hey guys. SO Sorry. Maybe I should subscribe to this thread on my phone.

Weekend was very busy and fighting over a contract at work that is just not going very well.:rolleyes:

I am absolutely not in charge. I think the rules I posted were fair and I got them off a different forum.

The way I see it is mscriv completed the challenge so it was his turn. I understand that people wanted to get it moving and fun stepped in however technically mscriv was the next to challenge so he should post one now and start back from there (sorry whoever did the other challenges).

That being said we need a time frame that the challenge winner has to post a new one and if they don't we need a statement of what happens next.

IMO it should be 24 hours starting Monday's at 8am through Friday at 8pm. Anything posted between Friday at 8pm and Monday at 8am has 48 hours to reply.

If the challenge winner fails to reply within 24 hours during the week and 48 on the weekend the previous challenger will then post a new challenge to keep the game moving and the challenge winner who failed to post within the time frame will be deducted a point.

WHat do y'all think? Like it says this is the first edition so a lot of it is rule learning and rewriting and learning from experience.

From what I've read it should be still on fun173's challenge as he said mscriv's entry was invalid because he didn't use paper. Fun173 Quote "Post a picture of an iPod video next to any mac. have a piece of paper with Macrumors and the date written on it."

I don't think renewed is the sole authority of the game. It is up to the the challenge maker to decide if someone's entry is valid or not. The person that gave the challenge should active for 3 days so they can approve the entry if necessary. I think most of the time it will be obvious that the challenge was completed though.

Finally it doesn't have to be limited to showing apple products as per renewed OP. Even though this is a apple dedicated forum. I can be any challenge you think of. Just saying.

Are you pre-law, or do you just hate trees? What possible difference can it make how the author, date and time are displayed.

We should incorporate a Bill or Rights in the Constitution and make the renewed the President. :D On a serious note, we should have some modified rules for this forum.

Ok let's keep this thread going, it's getting ridiculous. I'll post a challenge.

Post a picture of your pet next to a mac. Either put a paper with your username and the date and time, or just type in on your screen and make it visible.

Ok so I have two people -2 my post yet don't say anything. Productive.

Also, fun passed the torch to mscriv so it was mscriv's turn.

Also also we don't have to do apple products. I said hold a piece of paper with MacRumors on it up. You could hold it up in front of a fridge, a McDonalds, a tree, a squirrel in a chipmunk costume... whatever the challenger decides. The piece of paper is just a way to show the pic was taken for the challenge and not googled.

I thought It was made clear mscriv's picture counted. Let's just reset the game to back there. I apologize for posting another challenge. Let's let him post his challenge.
