MacRumors: Server Updates, Site Support, Contributions

wow, i went to go be less of a "free-loader" and contribute once and for all and it said macrumors is not taking contributions at this time whoa, wasn't expecting that... macrumors doesn't like me [pouts]

and on the moderation topic i read through, it is so over rated, it was really not fun a great deal of the time. (other sites obviously) i am also a board tech at another vBulletin formatted forum and people can be very annoying, especially the ones who actually know a little bit of what they are talking about, they are almost worse than the "how do i post a picture" dumbasses. the whole "can you install *this* hack?" thing annoys me to no end. i am basically an administrator but i refuse to deal with personal issues so i have the more stand-offish title of board tech.
so no one get too excited, those mods have lots of junk to deal with. Doctor Q always has his work cut out for him here too, that picture thread alone
hmmm... maybe if i post some bikini pictures i will be let into the elusive club (yes, i'm kidding, about the pics that is)
but i am curious about the not accepting contributions thing.

I believe that if you go to User CP, and on the left hand side, there is a place for "paid subscriptions" in the thread area... if you click on that, it will enable you to send $25. Mm hmm, I think that's it. But I mean, I think everyone would rather those bikini pics (myself included!).

No prob bob... we all miss things sometimes. I thought that the demi-goddess thing only happened if you PM'd a mod and had him (Are there any female mods?) change it for you?

i have a recent one of my jumping off part of a dam (i have an adrenaline problem) but i was wearing "board shorts" (yes, for a chick i am a total jock) if i end up ditching some inhibition it might end up in a desktop thread near you or subtly hidden somewhere. i might even take a cue from diatribe and keep the thing up only for a short amount of time. you just never know with me.

oh and i did pm someone about the goddess thing.

I don't know enough about computers, Macs, or vBulletins... besides, there are plenty of much-better qualified women here on MR that would probably be up for 1st female mod before I. Just a few that I can think of, Applespider, vniow, iBlue, etc. etc. Although, I do have loads of free time (it seems like) that I kill on MR.

To confirm ~Shard~'s answer, no, not at the moment -- assuming everyone is telling the truth! That's not by policy, but because the mods reflect the forum population - international and mostly male.

As far as I know, no bots, androids, extra-terrestrials, or people who have never touched a computer are mods either, so our diversity is lacking in a few ways.
