I think everyone in the MacRumors community should be proud of their contributions as they move up the ranks. This thread is to announce when you make a move to the next tier in the MacRumors pecking order. I've been working all year long to get out of 6502a and into 65816. With the next post after this one, I've done it! 🙂

I just wish I didn't have to go another 500 posts to get to the next tier. Would prefer 250 posts between tiers in the same CPU family with bigger gaps between CPU families. Also, based on the FAQ, I wonder why there's only a 5 post delta between 65832 and 68000, and 68010 and 68020. Typo? Forgot some CPUs in the original tiering? And maybe one day the powers that be will include Intel and Apple Silicon in the tiering.

The 65832 was never used in a Mac, just the Apple IIgs.

The 68010 wasn't really used by anybody and saw no Mac use.

Check my user title. Nehalem.

I believe somewhere around 38/39K gets you to Westmere. There are a few users with that title right now, although several of the higher post count members seem to be 'Contributors'. Contributor is a title you can get, regardless of post count. You just have to pay for the subscription.

Ah the ol’ pay-to-play model! lol It’s funny you mention Contributor since I thought it meant someone that is/was a contributing writer for MR. Completely slipped my mind it could be for subscribers/supporters.

And I did notice some folks had the Intel generation code names. If memory serves didn’t I see someone with Haswell?

Yeah, Haswell is a bit farther up. 😀

If you subscribe, you can also choose the title of MacRumors Demigod or Demigoddess if you like. That's an alternative to 'Contributor'. Just mentioning it, because there are some users who've chosen that title.

Let's see…above Westmere we have…

Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, then Haswell (of which @Scepticalscribe seems to be the only one with that title at this time) and then Broadwell. @maflynn has Broadwell and is currently close to 80K in posts. No idea if they get a new title when they hit 80k or not though.
