I remember reading MR on a Power Computing Clone as I picked the fuzz out of the mouse ball sensor! Seems like a moment and 25 life times ago!

Been reading since the beginning. I can't recall exactly when MacWEEK ended, but thinking around the same time Macrumors started. The first Mac I owned was Macintosh SE, although when I was an undergraduate at UCSB in 1985, snuck into a Geography lab that had the original Macintosh. I was in love from the get-go, though it took many years before I could afford one.
Mac SE, Mac II, IIx, IIfx, Quadra 700, Powermac G3 Desktop, PowerMac G4 Graphite, Mac Pro 12 Core, Powerbook 180, Macbook Pro Aluminum 15, Macbook Pro 16" 2019, several Mac Mini's, Mac Studio M1 Ultra (current).

I had the pleasure of animating the Pentium Snail, for use at NAB, in 1998?, or something like that. Might have been used a Seybold as well, for one of Jobs' first keynote. Used Cinema 4D, which at the time ran on both Mac and Pc's, so it was useful to demonstrate the performances between the two platforms. My team got to meet Jobs at the Apple Campus, but sadly I had to say back and feverishly work on the project to get it done in time. Story of my life, deadlines.

I returned to grad school for physics in 2001 and was able to get the physics department switched over to Macs, and the project I was working on, protein folding, we set up one of the first networks of Mac Pros for our in-house super computer.

I love my M1 Studio, although I am looking forward to the M4 Ultra. I own several PC's too, Threadripper Pro 5975wx, because some software like Solidworks and COMSOL run so well. I expect, hoping that most of my computing needs will be satisfied by the M4 Ultra.

Thank you Macrumors for all the articles and videos you have supplied over the years. I have loved reading these. And of course thanks to Apple for surviving and growing during this time as well.

Congratulations! Signed up in 09 but was lurking for years beforehand. I've really enjoyed seeing both MacRumors and Apple grow in that time. Really cool to be able to experience all of that, with you all. Ad Meliora!

Wow, 25 years, where does the time go? I registered *checks* 6/18/2008, I’m fairly certain I was reading the site longer than that.

Still, been quite a long time :)

Keep up the work MacRumors!

Interesting to see the names of some of the old-timers such as myself who were here at the beginning (or very nearly). Some of us are still alive, and even kicking -- if not here any longer.

It's a milestone day for MacRumors, as today marks our 25th birthday. MacRumors was coincidentally founded on Steve Jobs' birthday of February 24, 2000, with articles starting just a few days later.

MacRumors was founded by medical student Arnold Kim, and it remained a side project for over eight years until he decided to give up medicine to focus on MacRumors as a full-time career. That backstory and additional perspective were shared in a July 2008 New York Times profile.

Through the years, MacRumors grew along with Apple's popularity and added additional writers, editors, and other staff members, with the team now numbering roughly a dozen dedicated folks who live and breathe Apple news and rumors.

Happy Birthday, been reading this for over a decade and finally joined. lol.

I remember the early days of speculating wether Mac and iPod shuffle’s were sold at Best Buy or Walmart and PowerBook g5 clues lolol

Simply beautiful! Still my home page every time I open a browser and likely always will be. Thanks MacRumors for the hard work, dedication, and spreading so much joy and incredibly useful information over the years. Here's to many more!!

Wow. Let's take a second to reflect on the last 25 years.

1. The iPod and iTunes revolutionized the music industry. And while it had no wireless and less space than a Nomad, it was, in fact, not lame.
2. The iPhone revolutionized mobile computing and destroyed Blackberry & Palm Pilots
3. iPads created an entirely new segment of computing that was based around specific applications rather than the data itself
4. Apple's migration to Intel opened up an entirely new segment of consumers who realized they can run windows natively on macs
5. Apple Silicon is hands down the best processor on the market right now
