My go-to for best info:

on iPhone hacks: thelatinist. (can be quite biting in his replies, but with all the misinfo in this forum, he is the one I go to when I'm confused on jailbreak matters.)

on Windows On the Mac: balamw. (he seems to know what I'm asking even if I don't ask it the right way. Very well-informed dude.)

Is this a forum rule? I know what youre talking about, but its not making much sense. There isnt a minimum of words in a post required. I can post fairly good quality things in less than 20 words.

I looked through the rest of your posts in this thread. I’m not sure you’re getting it. It’s not about how many words you post. It’s about actually having something to say and actually being helpful. For example, writing “so true” is not being helpful. Writing something about your taste in beers is ridiculous when you’re 13. You shouldn’t even be posting in a thread like that. You have your thread that you call it in your link, but you have 250 posts in it. Clearly all your posts in that thread weren’t helpful. Do you understand? Bottom line, this isn’t a chat room.

Since you seem to be wrapped up in post rate and amount of posts, have a look at my posts over a course of a few days. Yeah, I mess around from time to time (BTW, posts in the games don’t count and are wastelanded before you get any ideas), but for the most part I actually help people with problems with the Macs, OSX, iPhones, and Hacks. Since you seem to have a iPod Touch, try helping people with iPod Touch issues, if you’re capable. If not try to learn things by reading the threads, because there is a lot to learn, if you want to make the attempt. And once you learn, you’ll be able to spread the knowledge and be a better forum member. Also, you might want to spend some time reading the rules of the forum and the faqs, since those will help you learn the basics of posting (for example, codes for making strikes strikeouts) and many other things.

That’s my advice and 2 cents.

I've always said I keep a massive one and since BV flashed hers I'll flash mine. Do note that I haven't been as good lately at adding people to it. So there may be some newer people or people I've just forgotten to add to it. Like BV, I just add people that at some point had things to say that interested me and so I added them so their posts highlight in forum spy.

....Bottom line, this isn’t a chat room.....

Thank you!

I come here for info still being fairly new to Macs. I had to quickly learn how to sift through the one liners and get to the real stuff. Most of the people that spark up my ears are on these lists. Thanks all.

The only problem is that my post count sucks because all I do is read. But this attests to all the good info here.

EDIT: Sorry to chop up your post.

My buddy list is *ancient*, I think I added a few people to it years ago then gave up as I didn't really see the point in it, if I like a user I'll generally make more of an effort to read their posts if I spot any in a thread.

Half of those don't post anymore and a couple of them bring back rather sad memories.

Wow... I typically go by avatar as to who I look for in a thread (you, Abstract, Dawg, and a handful of others), but I don't think I could keep track of a list :)eek:) like that. Props.

Yeah--I have not really even thought about that until the question was asked. I don't follow anyone because I never gave the idea a thought. Maybe a better answer is I follow everyone--or at least every thread that I feel interested enough in to open. I don't do much better on Facebook either. I have a bunch of "likes" but seldom bother to check up on any of them--and I post more things here then I will ever post on Facebook.

Excellent point iBlue. I didn't even think about this until you posted it. If you are looking for interesting stuff to read then that is a great way to find posts quickly in the spy.

I admit that sometimes I only enter a thread because I want to see how a particular person is responding or what they are saying.

As mscriv said above, my main reason for that big list is so I don't have to pay as much attention. I see my buddies' posts highlighted in the forum spy and that is often how I discover some fantabbeeeeaaabulous threads/posts. :D

but I don't think I could keep track of a list :)eek:) like that. Props.

It's an incredibly simple and straightforward thing to do. Just a matter of clicking on people's usernames to bring up a contextual menu where you can add people to your buddy list.

Yep. The other occasionally useful thing about using a buddy list is that if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed or hassled by too many private messages from people you don't know, for whatever reasons, then you can switch your private messaging to only accept messages from your buddies.

I did not know Buddy Lists showed up special in the Spy...

That's exactly what I do, but when people change their 'tars that always throws me for a few days :p
