I'm Scottish, born and bred, and proud of it too, but Scotland is still part of the UK. If people are not happy with the options, well tough! The options are as they were set out, either post or don't!

The channel islands are not, never have been and hopefully never will be part of the UK. We've been self governing for around four times longer than the USA has existed and no one I know here wants that to change anytime. We've resisted being ruled by the UK for centuries and are proudly resisting the rule of the EU. It's just a shame neither will stop bullying us with financial measures which mean little to them but will leave many in poverty here.

Yeah, my mistake, sorry about that, both Jersey and Geurnsey are independent.

BTW, it's not that I'm some sort of seperatist, but I really like the differences in identity between the countries in the UK, and i think too much is being done to blur the lines. I wasn't trying to imply Scotland Wales or N Ireland were in any way inferior.

I know lots of Welsh and Scots who would rail under the description UK, so I stand by my comment. plus the UK count should be 14 after thequicksilvers post, I've amended the following posts.

I'm making 2 corrections. One, I believe the UK is short 1, and will be a bit off since Ireland has been added separately, so anyone who added +1 to the UK and is from Ireland will throw things off. I won't correct for that. However, UK is short one.

Secondly, but most importantly, Canada is short one. All of a sudden, the number just decreased by 1, probably because 2 people posted at once.

The US is short one as well.

And to add to the confusion regarding Jersey, I had always thought that the difference between the UK and Britain was that the UK included Ireland, while Britain did not. Britain only included England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland (and all the little islands off the main islands), but the UK included Ireland, and probably Jersey as well. :eek:

Now that a pretty comprehensive list of countries has been established, how about creating a poll with all of those countries listed, as well as "Other" for any new ones that might show up? The "Others" can reply and state which country they're actually in, so that future country lists are more complete.
