I didn't make the ad, but it seems clear all apps are going to be unlocked. They unlocked soundstudio early, and bannerzest is about to be unlocked.

While it did turn out okay, it is still misleading (unethical) to sell a bundle to a buyer based on an application that isn't 100% guaranteed to be received. And while I like this site and respect what you've done, passing the buck isn't worth squat. MacRumors is gaining financially from sales, your not just selling advertising, you're selling the product. That makes MacRumors responsible.

I know everything worked out, but that doesn't mean anything. I could never trust someone who lies even if things turned out alright in the end. You're response was a real turn-off to me as a reader of this site.

How does this promo work?

Well now that all the apps are unlocked... I'd like to ask, as a newbie to this kind of stuff, how this promo works exactly.

Sorry if this question has an obvious answer for those of you reading, but if I purchase the bundle now, can I wait a while (most likely after the promo ends) before I actually download the programs or do I have to download the programs right away and only get unlimited access to the serial numbers. I ask because I currently have a Powerbook G4 w/ OSX Tiger and I'm about to buy the soon to be released iMac. I'd like to get the bundle on the new iMac instead of my Powerbook, so I was wondering if purchasing the bundle gives me unlimited time to download the programs.

Hopefully someone might answer this question before the promo ends in 3 days. Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm interested in how this works too.

Since everything is unlocked, that means I get all those aps for $65? What's the catch?

What's the option to extend the membership all about?

The only "catch" about this promo is, that it is necessary to reach a minimum number of sales in total so that a certain developer (for example Parallels) is joining the promo. That´s why this app (and others) were locked at the beginning.

Now, after all apps have been unlocked, there is no catch for the buyer to be aware of.

What you will get right now is this:
You pay the promo price, and you will receive an eMail with download links to each of the 10 apps and an accompanying serial code.

Since you were not an early-adopter, you wont get "WhatSize" as a bonus, but you´ll survive that, right? ;)

You can download the disk images of the apps now and install on your new computer later, no problem.

The MacUpdate membership is just a rebate on an optional service. It will be $9 instead of $20. Please check the MacUpdate website if this service is appealing to you.

The rest should be quite self-explanatory, but feel free to ask more... :)

I did buy the Macupdate membership, but I have no idea what I've joined.

What did I join? It wasn't very clear on the website I looked at.
Isn't it a subscription service that notifies you when there is an update of any (non-Apple) software you have installed (the 3rd party equivalent of Apple's Software Update)?

With respect to the questions about any catches, some developers have been known to be more picky about offering updates to software purchased in bundles like this.

You just spent $9 on something you dont know anything about?

If you dont care, my PayPal account needs to be fed... :p

Go to MacUpdate and check your membership... (I hope so badly that you are joking here)

This bundle actually works out very well for me.

Parallels- I'll gladly give it a whirl. I have my suspicions that I'll eventually end up with VMware Fusion on my man machine.

Hazel- I actually love the idea of automating my computing management. Computers are supposed to make my life easier. If "I" am the one that constantly has to manage my files then I'm not taking advantage of my computer plain and simple.

Typinator 3.0-
Very happy about this one. The only thing that sucks about text Macro apps is that it's difficult to carry them across different OS. But the value in undeniable when you need to insert often used snippets of text. Plus it's "Dockless" now. Sold.

BannerZest- looks interesting. I'll probably come back to it in the future when I start dabbling with CSS and web stuff. I'm glad to have it.

SoundStudio- I love audio apps. I'll tinker with this one.

Storymill- This is actually a rebranded Avenir. A highly respectable writing tool. I just so happen to want to start writing more. I suspect I'll end up using Scrivener but I could end up with both depending on stylistic differences.

The rest...Leap, Art Text etc will get sampled. I don't think I'm as pessimistic as some in this regard. Many of us are unconscious as to what we can benefit from softwarewise. 10 apps for an avg of 6.49 dollars is as cheap as you can get. If I enjoy a third of the apps i'm ahead of the game.

I swear the next bundle better include LicenseKeeper or something like it to manage all this stuff! Hey we're Mac users...we should be buying and using a disproportionate amount of software as compared to the rest of the industry. It's the Mac way.

Just picked it up. My reasoning:

Parallels: Willing to try it to compare against VMWare which I already have. Worth about $30.

DVDRemaster: Mainly interested in the audio extraction part of this. I know that there are other tools and workarounds, but if this works as a one setting: get me a WAV of this audio stream, I'll be happy. Worth about $20 bucks to me if it works.

Hazel: Always wanted it, but for the functionality, seemed a little overpriced. Worth about $10.

Sound Studio: This will fill in some of the frustrations I run into when I'm trying to do stuff in garage band. Worth about $20 given the features I saw.

Typinator: Was interested in this also, but it was also priced beyond what I was willing to pay. Worth about $10 to me.

Leap: Willing to try this out to see how it can improve my searching/tagging. Another one of those utilities I was interested in, but which was price way beyond what I was willing to pay. Worth about $10.

All in all, I got it because it was worth it to me. I figure if I have to pay less what is worth to me, then it's pretty much a no brainer. I was also lucky that I hadn't purchased any of the software separately, as has happened to me with other bundles in the past.

Neon Tango has been added to the bundle!

just had an email saying Neon Tango has been added to the bundle!

"MUPromo just wanted to congratulate and thank you for participating in our latest bundle. This has been a lot of fun for everyone here, so go play your new game by Freeverse!

Neon Tango licks the shoot-em-up genre down to its chewy abstract center. If Chuck Norris had his action removed and hot-glued onto Jack Bauer, and then Mr. Bauer was blended into a protein shake, it would be called "The Neon Tango" and... it would be Delicious!!!

Neon Tango - Psychedelic arcade shooter with thrilling action."

today's the last chance to get the bundle!

bundle question

How often are these bundles offered? When is the next one?
I missed out on this one, as i was waiting until I purchased my MBP 2.4 for school (edu discount) was hoping for parallels and dvd remaster at least...

There's usual a winter and spring/summer bundle. I believe it's just MacHeist and the MacUpdate Promo right now. I'd look those two up in some more detail.
