Macupdate bundle

Just bought the latest Macupdate bundle:

http://www.mupromo.com/?ref=8606

Worth it for Toast alone, but I was drawn by the encryption software and ShareTool as well.

I know this is more for a software forum, but I bought it specifically for my new Hex. So there. ;)

I participated in the nano bundles and promos in the past and this one, just doesn't have anything all that exciting...

If this was even close to a mid-cycle release of Toast 10, then maybe... but I have a feeling like... a month after I would have gotten this the new version would come out...

Plus I know someone else who has Toast, and they hardly ever use it.

And the other apps... just don't really catch my attention.

Maybe Cashulator... but I think I'll get that later.

Like what everyone else has posted. Its basically getting Toast for 50 bucks. There's really no other compelling apps to draw me into purchasing this package.

You know what bundle I'd like to see? The OmniFocus trio (Mac/iPhone/iPad) for less than the $140 current asking price.

Generous offer, but frankly there's Nothing here that isn't already offered for free or included in osx already. Pass.

A lot of people seem to like Toast. Does it really provide anything that OSX and its apps (including iLife) can't do? Or does it just do it with a nicer interface?

I want it to take my TiVo recorded shows and convert them for my iPad. It's TiVo To Go or something that needs Toast.

I'm selling my blood, anyone want some?

Doesn't Toast include Tivo Desktop for Mac? That might be worth it for some folks...

Agreed. Toast 11 will be out 1-2 months after this is over and they will extract another $79 from users.

From what I've seen, this is pretty common - the hope for upgrade $$$ is one of the motivators companies have for participating. I bought one of the MacHeist bundles a couple years ago, and within 6 months several of the programs had new paid major upgrades out. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, though - it's not like the current version will stop working, so if it does the job you don't have to upgrade unless you want to.

But on this bundle, I'm in agreement with most of the posters so far - there's not much here I'm interested in. However I'm not bothered that MacRumors does this in the least.

Just so happens that I was planning to pick up Toast soon anyway. My wife will like the interior design app, not sure about the rest of them.

I use Toast quite a bit. Terrible support and minor upgrades cost alot but there is no other program that does it all like Toast. I am still on ver 8. So I am tempted but I am sure ver. 11 is just around the corner. Toast does a quite a bit more than just burn disks. It is very handy just for extracting and converting audio and video files even if you don't burn them.

The blueray plug-in costs extra. I bet they roll it in with ver. 11 to make it more attractive.

This bundle is simply awful. I don't think anyone would agree with "12 Top Mac Apps" headline. None of them are 'top'. Apart from Toast. Maybe.

Why do Macrumors keep pushing this rubbish?

I snapped it up.

Definitely seen better bundles in the past, and there will obviously be better bundles in the future, but whats $50 for some cool apps? The personal finance app looks useful, and some of the others will get a little attention, I'm sure.

Why do Macrumors keep pushing this rubbish?

Macrumors is a partner with them
It is a revenue stream and a business arrangement
They don't pick the software

And not everyone feels the same
If you are looking for certain software, this might meet your needs
It doesn't for me, but for others, like jessica. it does
