I bought this as it seems like a no-brainer. Several things I was thinking about are in there and I will use 3/4 of them.

I believe the licenses are regular full license. To be safe on getting the latest versions, I downloaded all of them from the individual developers' sites and installed them using the supplied serial numbers and they all activated fine. As far as I can tell, its no different than if you bought it from the developers. I doubt any of them are sophisticated enough to have special license codes that have restrictions.

That is exactly what I did. What I get is a full version that stays in demo mode unless a serial # is entered. Please don't automatically assume that I need to be talked down to.

I never have any problem with them falling out unless I've done something obvious like tied my scarf around my neck over the cables. That probably would explain why I get better sound — they sit very tight and snug in my ears. I never thought about it like that!

Never say never.

A lot of people got burned on Speed Download when their license suddenly wasn't good enough for an upgrade.

I'm slightly annoyed that MU Promo haven't learned anything from [the MacHeist] fiasco. Unless they deliberately plan to pull a fast one on the buyers, I see no reason that they can't provide a line or two of text that clearly explains the licenses.

The Speed Download hullabaloo happened during a MacHeist, not a MU Promo.

Download the trial or view one of the videos on the website.

I'd say it's a hobby editor in the same category as Apple's iWeb. Depending on your needs or expectations that might or might not be a good thing. What do you want to use it for?

The themes can be edited, yes.
 
Virus Barrier a bit of a scam, won't allow update to current plus Drive Genius requir

I've been reading MacRumors.com for years and finally registered to let people know that the version of VirusBarrier included with the bundle is not complete.

I bought it yesterday and went to run it today. As with any virus program, I wanted to make sure the virus definitions are up to date. Well, the program says the virus definitions rights have expired. So the version that came with the bundle wasn't up to date and there is now way to update the virus definitions. (won't be buying from them again.)

I know that virus software is kind of redundant for the mac, but hey I paid for the program as part of the bundle, it should at least be up to date with current virus definitions.

Also, Drive Genius 2 requires an extra $5 download fee from the software company to make a disk image so you can work on your main hard drive (which is exactly what I wanted to do when making the purchasing decision.)

Almost every option for the program will show a red exclamation mark over your main hard drive icon, so you need the disk image from Drive Genius for $5, this info wasn't given in any of the pre purchase screens that I saw.

If these companies are using the MacBundle as a way to get potential customers incomplete versions will not work. An honest company lets you know you are getting an incomplete version. Over the years I have been very loyal to the software companies that are honest about their products.
 
On the download page given after the bundle purchase at the bottom there is a link to download Drive Genius 2 DVD image along with instructions. I was able to download it just fine and burn it to DVD. When I get back to my Mac/home I can post a ss or link url if you wish.
 
Well I just bought the bundle as most of the items on there will be used at some time during the next few weeks. I'm really looking forward to using RW and getting some extra themes for it over the ones for iWeb. Pretty nice little bundle for the cost :)

This bundle is a very cold deal. It has about 3 good apps, the rest arent very good. Little snitch and keycue and whatsize are the good ones.
 
Problem Loading Page

I'm having a lot of trouble loading the page. It has been trying multiple times for about 20 minutes now. Anyone else having this problem?

I am, too. Haven't been able to load any of the linked pages to get the deal all day today. :(
 
MacUpdate Holiday Mac Application Bundle for $49

I got my bundle this morning
I downloaded Drive Genius first
and made the bootable dvd as instructed

But right now I cannot install any of the programs
because of a password issue. Long story short
I took my iMac into a Apple store for a OS reinstall
and a back up from time machine.
I told them what pass word to use but it does not work
and now I cannot install any updates or the programs
I bought this morning.

Is there any way simple way to fix this, or do I need to do the
OS reinstall again.

I want to buy the bundle, but it won't let me

I just logged on to buy the bundle, but it blew me off with "Cannot create an account". Is there a phone order location I can try?

I was using Safari 3.2.1 on a MacBook Pro running Leopard.
 
Drive Genius is excellent. Just don't connect any .dmg files to install anything while it defrags an external drive. It doesn't like that and neither will all your newly lost files.
 
All licenses are apparently full licenses.

I really don't see any issues so far with this bundles. They seems to have learnt from all the previous ones.

If it's your OS admin password that you can't use, try putting the OS X install disc in the drive, booting it up and there's option to change the password in one of the menus.

I bought the bundle as well, primarily wanting Little Snitch. Per the invoice, the Little Snitch s/n will come "direct from developer". When can I expect to see it?

Bundle Page Won't Load...

I have bought numerous MacUpdate Promos in the past. Something different is going on with this new winter bundle page. I have not been able to load the page since it was posted. Trying Firefox instead of Safari returns "Server Not Found". Apparently I am not the only one with this problem.
 
Holiday Mac Bundle

I was able to update the anti virus. I then ran the program and
it found 5 virus's.

I installed Drive genius but there are several tests in it that I cannot
use. There is a explanation point inside of a red stop sign
what does that mean.

any body else have this happen

Boot to the Bootable DG-DVD and use those features. Those are not available while your accessing/using the drive.
