Wow the SlingBox iPhone app won an award. I guess that means that Apple is on board with this app and wont reject it.

Yes no wonder it is the end of Macworld. Apple is out of ideas and have become stagnant. At least they know it (aka no more Macworld).

I wouldn't say that they are out of ideas, they just need to develop their products on their own schedule.

The wireless webcam was sweet! It was surprisingly cheap for something so cool. Great for parties.

That and I don't trust Windows Home Server.

Ever since the initial service pack, it's been extremely reliable. Unless you want to roll your own, the HP solution is an excellent one; both in price and features.

Sling-Box seems quite promising - nice interface.

i have the 1st gen slingbox that i used to use with my old sprint phone. loved it. sprints evdo network was/is twice as fast as ATT 3g. i have missed it soo much since i got the iPhone.

i still use it on the iMac in the office room to watch Tv back there, but i used to love watching the news over lunch on my old phone.

i was really hoping for a firmware update to make the older one compatible.

i used to stream at 6500kbps on the sprint phone, and the fastest i have gotten with bandwidth tests over 3g is in the 3300 range, so i would be worried about the picture over ATTs network.

i will certainly be interested to see how it works out for some early adopters.

I have to give it to Cultured Code for Things. I've been using the Mac beta with the iPhone app. I love it. It looks like a native app and allows you to quickly add to do's to your list. It also syncs very quickly. I'm most likely going to plop down $50 for 1.0. For people with bad memories it's a must.

The videos on the HP MediaSmart Server page are hilarious - I'm not sure if they are meant to be, but they are sooo cheesy. I mean, I had to wipe the cheddar oozing from the edges of my monitor after watching them.

I'm not sure how Americans feel about being patronised like that, but it certainly wouldn't go down well here in NZ.

Hah! A Windows Home Server PC won an award at MacWorld? Wow...

(the reason it won is probably because it supports Time Machine backups over the network, so you dont have to shell out for such a single-dimensional product like Time Capsule).
