Is it ironic that Apple doesn't make these videos available through iTunes? I'd love to watch it on the iPod while on the go...
Absolutely. It's a no-brainer, they should really have done a MWSF video cast. Wouldn't have needed any work on it, just put up the thing we're all trying to stream!

Would've needed some hefty servers for the demand, but if some are streaming and some are getting the Video PodCast then it would spread the load at least!

Ah, excellent – glad to see Apple posting the keynote so quickly after its original broadcast. Mind you, with all the major announcements by Jobs, it’s probably in their best interests to get that up as quickly as possible since there is no doubt a huge demand to watch it! Reading the live updates here at MacRumors was great but nothing tops seeing the real thing with my own two eyes.

Sounds like Steve's got the cough going around.
 Steve is NOT ill. The Steve would never get ill. He's just coughing 'cos it's in fashion at the moment. ;)

I have the SteveCough too :D

Someone place it for download... please, please, please, please? Yes?! Come on please! :p Is it up? Where is it? I can't see it :D

Now seriously... would somebody be so kind to put it up somewhere so we can download it? the stream is awful right now.

Looks like Apple lowered the video quality slightly but now it's a lot less choppy. Man today is a happy day to be a Mac fan!!!!!!

The video was the same resolution as the last one. I actually decided to watch the keynote before going to macrumors. Unfortunately there was no sound (there was sound, but it dropped almost instantely after buffering)

that suitably surpised me. i walked out of the keynote coverage from MR (good job by the way) after seeing "MacBook" appear onscreen. didn't stay for anything else, went out for an indian meal with a friend. got back, and there's the keynote. he's an MacAddict too, so we watched it. great to have it there so quickly!

Size might not have been changed at all, you may just be receiving a lower quality stream.

I watched the whole thing and in the .MOV title it had "600". I loaded it up again, and I guess the bandwidth is now up the creek, so it had "100", as in 600kbps, then 100kbps. The video you receive is auto-selected based on conditions such as your connection speed, and the load on the server.

Just finished watching it and it was pretty painful...it took ages to connect, then the video and audio kept getting choppy so I had to pause/play continuously in order for it to buffer. They really should make it available for complete d/l.

As for the actual presentation, it was up to it's usual high standard and showed that there is an exciting year ahead.

Super coverage! Thanx!

Hey MacRumors,

I was unable to be in front of my PowerMac (Mac Pro soon? ) cause I had a date with my girlfriend. I live in Germany and I do not know how good the whole UMTS mobile stuff would work with macrumors.com but I came to the idea just to check the site from my nokia... and it kept updating...:D all the time... Pretty cool, guys!

Thanx a lot,

Lenny :)

MacBook Pro?

Seriously, double ewe tee eff. Stupidest name ever. And yes, I'm including the Mighty Mouse (what a great new pattern they've got going now... next up, iPod Tiny-Weeny and HappyMac Deluxe).

Apple, we love you. But let's just go back to the good ol' PowerBook. It meant something, one did not have to feel ashamed when other people noticed the name on it. If I ever buy a MacBook Pro, I'm scratching off the name and writing "PowerBook" in permanent marker.

Well, that's about all I can find to talk about right now. Keynote address is no-go. Is there no file download anywhere?

So the BIG question is: "What happens on April 1st?"

Steve seemed to make a big deal out of it being the 30th Anniversary of Apple.

Indeed, something big should happen on april 1st... But since the MacBook Pro (ugh) was released... Maybe that Mac mini/Viiv box thingy? (which, if successful, could be as big if not bigger than the iPod in the long term).

someone could be making money right now with this keynote, you kno slap 4 google ads on your page and include a link to the keynote and boom the money rolls in:p sure there the bandwith but meh
