The new MBP battery can only be charged a 1000 times?
My MB has been charged 1012 full cycles!! (Since christmas 2006)

Wow...just wow. Not in a good way. And thats more than a cycle a day...hate to see your battery health.

It will last more, just like the current ones last 300 with 80%, these will probably last 1000 with 80%.

It was great though. Anybody else have a different one?

Wow, no mini or imac? Apple stock rose $3.00+ yesterday, expect a huge dump today, especially since it normally takes a dump anyway, now it will be much bigger and with the NON removable battery, no new mini/imac while i7 intel chip is out for $300, I think Apple is really going to take a huge hit today.

10:19AM "We get up to 1000 recharges... we have a chip in the battery that talks to each cell, and the system adjusts the current accordingly. 3x the charges and lifespan of the industry standard."
I like this part. Increase longevity like a SSD drive by polling and monitoring the hardware state to excessive avoid wear.

10:21AM "What does it mean for all of us? Incredible battery life -- discrete graphics, up to 7 hours, integrated chip, 8 hours."

Huh? Well which is it? 7 or 8 hours?

UPDATE: Got it.

You guys see how that battery is put together? Don't tell me your not gushing with excitement!

Looks like no mini, the only hardware intro is the new 17" macbook pro. Wow, I usually think people's expectations are way to high for these, but that's pretty amazingly underwhelming, I can only imagine the backlash.

Not even a mini update? Pretty sad.

8 hours and 1000 charges. Sooo... use it for 8 hours a day and it'll last you 1000 days (about 2 3/4 years). Now the real question is, how much does it cost to replace the battery...

"comes in one config -- $2799." 2.66GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB hard drive."

WOW.

This keynote was beyond boring!

Software and just a MacBook.

I see why Steve doesn't waste his time or energy given the keynote.

For gods sake, they spent a little over 10 minutes talking about a BATTERY!

Oh damn. Once it's over the entire MR community will be in fury with pitchforks!!
