I contacted magpul about the moisture, basically said 'oh we'll, just wipe it off'. Not impressed.

Because they aren't a case maker, they don't strive to go out of their way to please customers that buy their near-cost phone case. The moisture is from the case material, and there isn't much you can do about it - except wipe it off. What did you expect from them?

Customer service perhaps. Same as I expect from any company.

Any company selling a product they make should pride themselves on customer service. If they can't be bothered providing customer service when products are faulty they shouldn't sell them. No matter what they are.

They could have offered a replacement, explained why it happens, or even just apologised for the case being faulty, which they admitted it was. Not just said deal with it.

I agree - I would expect some level of customer service, even if it isn't a manufacturing fault, you would expect some polite interaction surely? Wipe it off isn't really a great response!

There isn't anything else that can be done. The material combined with heat from the phone is what produces the moisture - and it isn't harmful. If it bothers you, use a different case, wipe it off or don't worry about it.

I've had mine for at least a couple months and I removed it A LOT. Multiple times daily because the cable from my car is picky and wouldn't work with the case on. So like 3 times daily I removed it while driving. Well I recently used an xacto knife and trimmed the extra material around the dock connector so I don't have to remove it anymore.

Even after all that it still fits tight though. I don't know what you guys are doing

This isn't true. I think it is a harmless bad batch. None of my Magpul's have this oil problem.

It's not a military item either. Should be shipped anywhere of you will pay the postage. Not for free though.

You're right, the case isn't a military item - my point was that most places that carry Magpul items don't ship outside the U.S., because the vast majority of products they carry can't be.

How many using this case have had it survive a significant drop?

Trying to decide between this one, a Commuter, or LifeProof if I can find one on Craigslist.

Mine has survived two or three drops from 3-4' above ground and phone has survived well.

I've had my case for about 5 months now, in the span of which my iPhone has been:
-hit by a bus
-hit a brick wall
-slid on old chewed up blacktop face down
-been dropped on the corners multiple times
-fell off of my car when I left it on the roof and pulled off

And the only damage to the phone came with the sliding on gravel bit where the edges if the glass got a little roughed up by pieces of gravel. It does stretch a bit every now and then, but seems to work it self back to shape, if not from a little of own bending of it. Best damned case I've ever owned(executive btw).

P.s. The only time I've noticed a moisture problem is after strenuous workouts and I'm gripping the phone with sweaty hands.

That's good to know.

I believe most of my impacts have been on the corner in the past, which should be easier on the phone than a straight back or face drop.

Is it best to go directly through Magpul or is there a cheaper site out there?

The black field case is the hardest one to find in stock. Found one on ebay and this is one amazing case

Look up the iSkin REVO 4. Its a great case with great protection. Not very bulky and comes with a great removable screen protector. I've dropped my iphone in this case many times with excellent results.

I also bought a Magpul case yesterday from a third party company that offered free shipping. Hopefully it's a good case. Where does this moisture form? On the outside of the case or on the inside?

Wish I new about the "MAGPUL" coupon code yesterday. This is the company I bought my Executive case from. UGH!

After getting two Magpul cases and being disappointed with how easily they pulled out of shape and stretched, particularly near the volume buttons, I got a third. One last time I thought given the praise it garners on here.
After a few weeks the infamous volume button stretch appeared. To be fair you can keep squeezing the case back into shape but it always starts to come away again.
I have come to the conclusion that because Magpul make stuff for gun nuts and military types and they are American people are invested in defending them in a way that they wouldn't if it was another company. Its cheap and it's ok for the money but there are tons of better cases in the same price range and they stay in shape without having a massage every ten minutes.

You are based in Australia, and where able to easily get 3 Magpul cases? Where did you order from?

So not everyone is experiencing the volume button gap you mention, and we are not all gun nuts...I don't own any guns at all.

I'm not seeing the volume button issue on my newer cases. However, I can see that if you remove the case constantly, it will enlarge over time...this is a problem I've seen with all cases...or they just break, like the thin poly ones at the corners.

I only remove my case starting from the bottom of the phone. I wouldn't remove it from the top volume area.

Agree with viewfly maybe the ones that stretch are fake or taking it off to many times, Or side skins on the phone could be the issue

botach tactical with coupon code magpul

I called Botach and I had one of the guys pull one from inventory to see if it's a new version (with elongated camera lens and flash cutout). The one or two they looked at were from the original batch, i.e. with the smaller cutouts for the flash and lens. Can anyone who purchased the Executive Case confirm that it's a new or old version?

I love this case, nice and rugged. Like the texture a lot. My only disappointment is that this case does not allow me to dock it, the dock prong is just a little bit short to make contact... :-(

I have a field version and an executive field version and both are the new oval shaped not the keyhole shaped cutout. Both from Botach.

That's good info, thanks! What color executive case did you purchase from Botach? The color I had them check was black. You really can't beat this deal with the discount.

I placed an order at Botach earlier this morning for FDE. Didn't mention they were out of stock on their website.

Had to use the live web chat to find that out.

Ended up canceling the order and ordered directly from Magpul.

freezer fix?

Okay, my Magpul Exec has been good, little or no stretching or loose fitting over time.

However a family members exec has stretched quite a bit. Fits very loosely now.

I took my black exec which has a bit of fitting problem, minor, and figure that heating with a hair dryer just expands everything.

So I tried placing the case (without phone of course) into the freezer. You know, cold shrinks things. Just for about 15-20 min to make it stiff. Took it out, and let it thaw completely.

It seems to fit much tighter now. I don't know if it will last.

Anyone else willing to try and see if it works for them too? I'm not saying it will, but I'd like some to try, if you have any stretching problems.
