I have a bag full of IP4 cases that don't fit the 4S (mute switch is out of alignment), so looking for a new case. This fits the bill,, just worried about ordering one and having it not fit the 4s.

The site says 4/4s but how can it fit both?

It fits both because the cut out for the mute switch is molded long enough to accommodate either the 4 or 4s mute switch.

Just wanted to drop a note into this thread for others. I've owned dozens of iPhone cases and based on the comments here ordered one each of the Magpul Executive and regular Field Case covers. These things are an unbelievable value for the money. Hard, but pliant, polymer/plastic, feels very hi-tech (or military if you prefer), great grip surface and at least in my case perfect fit on a Verizon iPhone 4S. Both for $20, free shipping since I'm Amazon Prime.

I've owned Apple Bumpers, Speck, Incipio, Incase, etc etc etc that cost 4X the price that were nowhere near as form fitting and perfect. Yes, perhaps those other models offer a bit more protection but the craftsmanship was sub-par or in the case of Apple really just for looks more than anything.

You won't go wrong with these Magpul cases. Get one or two!

I got the case today, FINALLY after my 12 or so cases, I think this is the keeper. It just feels right, looks nice, and price is right. Thanks MacRumors for all your help. I will be leaving now. I hope to see you guys in the future, maybe under the Ipad 2 or 3 forums.

And in case you're wondering whether I know my iPhone cases...I do.

How do you like the Magpul compared to the iSkinz Solo Vu (the one on the bottom left corner)? That's the one I currently I have, and I really like it. It actually bowed a little bit on top, but it's settled over over the course of time. Two things I don't like about it are, 1) I'm afraid that the edges will stretch out if I remove it repeatedly and 2) it feels like it has a convex back, so it kinda spins a little if I tap on my iPhone while it's laying on a hard surface.

I actually had really high hopes for the Solo Vu, honestly. I hate to say it, but I've been really disappointed with it, mostly because of the reasons you describe. The bowing on the top wasn't a deal breaker for me, but the convex back was...I had enough of the spinning top thing with my 3GS and like how the 4S has the lay-flat design.

Another thing that bugged me, I'm a big user of port covers, so I thought this case would be great (I have the Commuter and when I'm using cases without port protection, I use separate covers). But the dock cover on the Solo Vu is so hard to get into place, and I feel like it'll rip off at any second.

I adore all my Magpul cases and had been using them exclusively until I tried the Belkin 050 (or Grip Candy). I've got both the blue/white and black/clear ones and they've quickly become my favorites. I've been using the black/clear for about 2 weeks straight now and I still love it. And I'm one of those that tends to change cases on a day-to-day basis.

If you're thinking about one of the Magpul cases, don't hesitate. I've got both the Executive Field and Field case and both of them are great.

Great, now I have two cases to consider! Jk, I really appreciate the input. I can tell I'm developing into a case fiend (just got the 4S a few weeks ago as a bday gift), but I'm trying to settle on just a few. One more question: is the Belkin 050 easy to get on and off?

It's extremely easy. The TPU or whatever it's made of is firm but not hard-ish feeling like the silicone on the Solo Vu. I tend to take mine off and wipe the phone down once a day then put the case back on, and it's a snap. And the case doesn't stretch out at all. I seriously can't recommend it enough. Oh, and no flash issues and it works great with a screen protector. :D

Just a follow up with the Magpul cases. I'm a case fanatic like the rest of you guys are and I absolutely love the magpul cases. I've been using the field case on my white iPhone 4S and can't believe this case is so cheap and well made. It has become my daily use case that I can put on and not worry about my phone. It has good drop protection, good lay on the table design, doesn't catch in your pocket and is a great overall no frills daily case. The only times I take it off are when I need my mophie battery pack or if I feel like going naked that day (my phone of course) :D Otherwise, I throw the field case on daily when at work, or at the gym I can keep it on the treadmill with me with no worries about it getting scratched up or falling and cracking the screen. I liked it so much that I bought a pink executive field case for her black iPhone 4 and she loves it too. Hers is paired with a phantom skinz screen shield so she can be a little more careless with throwing it in her purse etc. If you haven't bought one of these yet, what are you waiting for?

What I find truly appreciative about Magpul is the price, along with the high quality of this case.

Made in the USA and sold for $9.95.

Think about all those other cases that are made overseas, where cheap labor supposedly resides, and that sell for $29.95 and higher.

The Magpul line is the same quality and in fact superior to most of them. And with very good protection.

Really wish Magpul could team up with ZeroChroma and make these cases with ZeroChroma's awesome stand on the back. I really like my Magpul case but I'd like it even more with a built-in stand. I also like ZeroChroma's cases a lot because their stand is by the far the best one on the market, but a Magpul case with a ZeroChroma stand would be amazing.

I don't know if Magpul would be interested in adding a stand to their cases though - I'm not sure if that fits in with their brand.

I've had a black executive field case for a while now and decided to order a new one to get the updated version of it. Anyway, I ordered from botachtactical using the code "magpul" (gets you 15% off) and got it for $8.48! (free shipping too) You really cannot beat these cases for the price. I had been using a Tekkeon MyPower lately but I just don't need the extra power every single day so I'm only going to use that case when I know I won't be able to charge my phone for an extended period of time. The executive case is a great case and I really hope Magpul continues to make cases for future versions of the iphone.

I agree with this. I've had the exec black field for a bit too. More recently I ordered another exec in FDE and the field in Foliage. Even though my original exec fit well (no large gap at the volume after a few days of use), I did notice that the new ones fit very tight right from the start.

I ordered a new black exec and field from ebay (CORRECTION: Amazon, not ebay) to have a spare on hand. Both fit as tightly as the above. I think that Magpul has been 'tweaking' the fit a bit, and the new versions fit very snug with no play or gaps at all.

Great case!

Nice! I'm going to get a Foliage E. F. case. Viewfly did you happen to try the button mod? I did the mod by cutting next to the buttons as described in this thread and it makes a huge difference in the response of the buttons.

The feel of the buttons were fine for me...I don't mind a bit of stiffness. So I didn't make the mod that you did.

BTW, I ordered from Amazon, not eBay...my typo!

How long does the free shipping take?

How long does the free shipping take?

I'm not really sure. The case was actually on backorder when I placed my order on March 5th, but it finally shipped yesterday. The free shipping is via USPS First Class, and it ships from California. I'm sure you can figure out how long it will take the case to get to you based on where you're located. I wasn't in a rush anyway so there was no need for me to pay for expedited shipping. Can't beat free!

Oh wow, ours shipped on the same day! I live in Southern California and I just got mine today. Excellent timing for free shipping.
