...Volume buttons are a bit stiff, but I imagine that'll loosen up over time.

I need to correct this -- the volume buttons are not stiff. There is a "rib" of thicker material just below the down volume button that I was mistakenly putting part of my thumb on... which was giving me the impression the down volume button was stiff.

So volume buttons are not stiff as long as you don't mistake the high spot for the button. :D

Your right however they do loosen up I've had mine for a few months and they are easier to press than when I first purchased.

I'm trying to choose which colors will go well with gold 5s?? I already saw some pictures of the orange magpul on a white iphone so I'm sold with that. But what other colors go well with the gold 5s?

I would get the Flat Dark Earth for your gold iPhone.

Manly.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah now I'm kinda leaning towards this color already. This would be my first time to handle and see a magpul case when it arrives.

Just a heads up, the 'dark' earth color seems to vary depending on the lighting. It looks awesome in that pic with the Remington but it can also appear much lighter. You might want to do an image search for 'magpul fde' to get a feel for what it looks like in different conditions. I think it looks great and have my rifle covered in FDE furniture (I posted a pic in the other magpul thread) but some people don't like it after seeing it in person

Found this on the web of the FDE color in another shot. Kinda tricky with the white/gold iphone cos not all colors will match with it.

Just to add, I heard people mention oil. There is a small oily patch around the mould injection mark on the side of the case. The rest of the case has a VERY slight oily sheen too it. From my tiny bit of engineering experience, I think the oil is used in the manufacturing process to prevent the case sticking to the mould. It's not an issue at all though.

I'm sold, I've been looking at this case for about a month or so now. And just stumbled across you folks conversation. I took the plunge this morning in hopes to find something to replace my SGP Tough Armor. We'll not really replace it because I still enjoy it. I just don't care for the apple logo cutout on the back. One thing is for sure I don't ever plan on going back to the box. It's a great case just too bulky for my needs (to each his/her own)

Yep, mine was also to replace the tough armor. I was getting scratches to the back of my iphone where the edge of the logo hole was.

In case anyone was wondering..

The 3ft Monoprice lightning cable (Part #10375) fits perfectly with the Magpul MAG452 Field Case. You don't need to shove or anything to get it in there, there is no additional effort required vs. the OEM cable. Seems to fit fine.

However, the 6ft cable's connector (Part #10028) is slightly bigger (10.4mm vs 11mm per monoprice's website) and you can tell its slightly rubbing against the case when you plug it in. Nothing that causes me any alarm, but it requires just a tiny bit of effort to plug in.

Here is picture of 3ft cable plugged into my iPhone 5s w/Magpul case

I've had plenty of iPhone cases over the years, and I can't think of a single one that I haven't modified, at least a little, in an effort to accommodate various cables and docks. Sometimes all that's needed is to massage the port opening a bit for a cable like that from Monoprice, or reduce the case thickness slightly to establish charging contact in a dock. With the Magpul Field case I had to do both for the 6' Monoprice cable and the Belkin dock.

I usually use a Dremel tool and a few different size bits, along with some fine sandpaper to smooth it all up.

I've never been one to shy away from some carving and cutting to make things work. No big deal - I consider it part of normal iPhone ownership.

BTW, I love my new Magpul case too.

Has anyone seen/heard when this bump case would be released? Still shows on magpul but it's a myth as I haven't seen any for either phone.

Probably not anytime soon so don't hold your breath. Magpul is notorious for pushing back ambiguous release dates. I think I've been waiting over a year for the bump case. Just get the field case.

I have a green one but I literally just received the orange one I ordered and to my surprise the fit is slightly different in a good way. I got the green one almost a year ago and what disappointed me most was it's lack or lay on the table. This one covered the edges more then the last. I've switched them and confirmed crazy I think it's my favorite case again. My 5s needs a minimal case no otterbox.

Every one I've had fit perfectly. Are you sure they weren't amazon/eBay knockoffs? I always order from Magpul or an authorized dealer.

If it was it was the best knock off I've ever seen identical packaging . It's not too far fetched for the molding to be off slightly during the process one definitely covers less of the phone not much but it's noticeable.
