All these people crapping on MagSafe Duo. I absolutely love mine. Super convenient for travel, looks great at home, I never struggle finding the sweet spot to charge. And if I need a bit of a fast charge boost, I simply unplug the lightning from the back and plug it into my phone for extra speed.

I think people seem to fall into two categories.. People who don’t have one and hate it, and people who have one and love it. 😂

As long as the case doesn't interfere with other MagSafe chargers (ie. car mounts), I don't mind. This is a 'lying on a table next to the bed' charger really.
I’ve been looking at car mounts and this must be the reason why the likes of this don’t work with the 13 pro (although the blurb doesn’t say why)

Lol Apple is all about the environment, and they will gladly sell you another brand new charger once they roll out the redesign because #environment....

The real question is, will they work on a wireless charging pad or is the gap enough for it to not charge correctly?

On something like this, without MagSafe?

Earlier today, a report highlighted that an iPhone 13 Pro with a case doesn't lay fully flat on the MagSafe Duo charger, igniting concerns about possible compatibility issues. Even if the iPhone 13 Pro doesn’t lay fully flat on the charger, it will, however, still charge normally.

For better context, a video posted by MKBHD shows that an iPhone 13 Pro with a case is slightly elevated off of the MagSafe Duo Charger due to its more prominent camera bump. Despite the elevation, the iPhone 13 Pro will still charge as normal thanks to MagSafe, and the slight fit issue has no impact on charging performance or speed.

Apple lists the MagSafe Duo charger as compatible with all models of the iPhone 13 lineup, and customers that are worried that the iPhone 13 Pro won't be compatible with the charger should rest assured that it will be.

This isn’t a “minor” fit issue. It’s a total joke. This is a $1T+ company. Come on.

This is an excellent question. I suspect this is why the iPhone 14 is supposed to have a flat back.

I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on two of these. My wife is getting the standard 13 and I’m getting the 13 Pro Max so neither of us will have any fit issues. That being said I’m curious if I should wait and see if they release an updated version of this since I’m not in a rush to have these.

maybe if you don’t travel between destinations on your trip and have time for it to charge for a million years 🤷🏼‍♂️ I need my phone to be charged within the hour to make sure it gets me through the day, even if I am in a hurry
I charge my phone overnight and it mostly gets me through the day. If I ever need a recharge during the day I always use USB to Lightning cable as that will get me back up quickly. I dont recommend wireless charging for anyone who needs a quick recharge....

What would you have had them do? Release a worse camera on the 13 Pro so it fit a charger correctly?

I hated it when it was announced and then stared traveling. I love it but can’t believe it doesn’t work as well with the iPhone 13 Pro for the asking price.

LOL. Either Apple's secrecy is so tight that the accessory department couldn't even predict the next iPhone's design/size, of Apple is just being sloppy. I mean seriously, this small details is exactly what you expect a company like Apple to pay attention to.

Time for magsafe 2.0, where you have to re-buy all your accessories.

It really makes you think with the camera bump becoming soooo large and the official cases not making the back flush anymore… that this is all set up for the rumoured flushed back iPhone 14…

Apple seem to always create a problem, then fix it and announce it like it’s a feature worth upgrading for… this is a major oversight IMO, very un-Apple and makes anyone who got the Belkin Magsafe Charger or just the puck truly grateful

Wow, this kind of poor fit is vey un-Apple like. Is this something they didn't discover until after production started, or something they knew about and didn't care? If the latter, yikes! Fit and finish has always been a high goal for Apple.

I also don't understand how the built-in level measuring app will now work since the iPhone can no longer sit flat. I mean, yeah, so it will be flush when propped up on the sides, but if you're trying to lay it flat it looks like the measuring app won't be able to give you a level measurement. Sucks.

Dammit, I just bought a MagSafe Duo Charger, 13 Pro and Apple leather case for it.

It still works fine but stuff like this does irk me when I'm spending three figures on a charger.
You have good reason to be irked. This kind of sloppy fit and finish is very un-Apple like.

Well the duo was designed before the iPhone 13. The thing is the iPhone 13 was designed way before the Duo was introduced. They should of anticipated this.
Sure, the Duo was designed before iPhone 13. They shouldn’t then say Duo is compatible with iPhone 13. Redesign Duo so it with with the 13 and all other MagSafe iPhones

They redesigned the Magic Keyboard for the new iPad Pro… so I can’t understand why this wasn’t redesigned

Ugly, why? It’s not meant for a constant table side solution. I’m a flight attendant so I’m constantly on the go. For me its the perfect solution to have in my bag. Fold it up, have one charger and one cable, charges all of my devices on my layover.
Convenient and ugly can coexist.
