Apple's new Leather Wallet with MagSafe for iPhone 12 models is available for pickup today or tomorrow at select Apple Stores in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

A few customers have started sharing photos of the Leather Wallet on Twitter after completing a pickup at an Apple Store today.

As noted by 9to5Mac, it also appears that some customers are beginning to see their online orders marked as shipped earlier than expected. Many of these customers are seeing an estimated delivery range of November 2-9.

Priced at $59 in the United States, the MagSafe Wallet is designed to magnetically attach to the back of iPhone 12 models, allowing customers to carry a few credit cards or IDs with their device. The wallet is designed with tanned European leather and is offered in four colors: Baltic Blue, California Poppy, Saddle Brown, and Black.

I really want one of these but I want the mini more. And while Apple claims it’s compatible the photos suggest it’s suboptimal.

I can't find a single Canadian store that has this available.

I'm looking forward to seeing how strong it is. I think everyone is quoting the MKBHD video, but I'm going to need to see at least one more example first.

I wonder who is buying it. It does not look very secure
This little wallet is the reason why I wanted to upgrade to the iphone 12. I upgrade every year but this little wallet is something completely unique and new to the whole iphone experience. I was disappointed to find out that it was shipping later than the phone. This wallet can't come soon enough.

I don't think it's meant to be stuck together as strong as people are talking about. If I'm having the wallet and phone in the same pocket, I'd rather have it snap together and fit perfectly rather than just float in my pocket as two individual items. I don't think I'm treating it as a single unit. Just a wallet that complements the phone well.

What’s the point in this I don’t get it, not safe and easy can come off

It’s supposed to. You are supposed to take it off when you pull out cards. All the videos show it stays on in normal use. I think this idea that it doesn’t work came from videos of people trying to shove upside down into pants painted on their legs without using their fingers to expand the pocket.

It’s there for people who want a wallet case that doesn’t interfere with wireless charging. Granted, it does feel like an over engineered solution to a problem that Apple largely created themselves, but the option is there nonetheless.

I use some gecko thing from amazon that holds my building pass and its very convenient as I usually have my phone in my pocket or carrying it and can just wave the back of the phone over the sensor. I just don't know how secure this is. Also my car has a credit card style key so I can see the use for it but I may just go back the stick on style.

But these already exist. I have a wallet case that’s held on my phone with 3M adhesive that’s otherwise identical. It doesn’t come off with normal use, carries 2-3 cards, and I can charge wirelessly no problem. The MagSafe version is nice because it gives you the option to remove it in case you want to want to use a case some times, but if it falls off with basic use it’s not worth it at all. Really hoping the third party options have much stronger magnets.

edit: For reference this is what I use. Same look, but adhesive instead of magnets. Good for a single CC, drivers license, and a few large bills. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LY2CHPQ

I will use this to store the upcoming AirTag. That way I can easily find it when it inadvertently gets lost, plus it won't have space for other stuff, so my cards are safely elsewhere. Win-win.
