If I'm having the wallet and phone in the same pocket, I'd rather have it snap together and fit perfectly rather than just float in my pocket as two individual items. I don't think I'm treating it as a single unit. Just a wallet that complements the phone well.

That make sense. Enjoy your wallet.

I would get this if weren’t 60 freaking dollars, that’s more than an actual case that does something for your phone.

This should had been priced at 40 or 30 not 60!!!!

I get that, but how much stuff can you actually fit into it? It doesn't look that thick.

"That's what she said?" :p

I thought Apple said it was 2-4 cards at some point. In a lifestyle where I have an ID or 2 and a credit card almost anywhere I go, that works. I'd still be more concerned about the magnet strength personally.

I thought Apple wanted us to get rid of our wallets, as in ApplePay? I recall Tim Cook going on about it during an iPhone event and telling us that we didn't need to carry a wallet anymore.

Bloody hell - why do people get so hung up on things? If you think you'll find it useful, great. If you think it'll fall off then just don't buy one.

People complaining about a bad product, which this wallet case appears to be from several reviewers, in a thread about said product must be a foreign idea to you.

Maybe you should open a new “No MagSafe Wallet complaints” thread. There I could see why you would get annoyed at such complaints.

Am I the only one concerned that my credit cards would de-magnetize? Where we live, many stores still do not take chips and there aren’t any other options.

There's been a whopping one review on it (MKBHD) and dozens of complaints from people who haven't even tried it yet.

You'd have to be stupid to think this wallet would stay stuck to the phone with just magnets while cramming it in skinny jeans. I suspect this is meant for people who store their phones in their purse/bag/jacket, NOT in jeans. For the skinny jeans wearers, either this product this clearly not for you, or you can use super glue lol

I'll wait Apple to start reconsidering their strange choice to support animal cruelty for those real leather cases, instead of going vegan. I don't want my money to support it in no way.

Why not just use Apple Pay and not have your credit cards physically attached to your phone?
ID cards generally need to be physical until there's an app for that.

TBH I liked the idea of this at first but after seeing MKBHD have issues with this I stand corrected. It just doesn't work.

Full disclosure: I ordered the wallet on launch day for a phone I haven't even bought yet (Pro Max), cancelled the order after I saw all the reviews.

This wallet is designed for people like my wife, throw her phone and wallet together in her small to go purse or bag. It will sell well in that group like my lady!

"allowing customers to carry a few credit cards or IDs with their device"
good deal! so when you lose/get stolen the phone, you lose the complete pack! i suggest also to add a small paper sheet with your PINs on it, and a ring to attach keys!
Because Apple came up with the idea of a case that also holds your credit cards? There are 2 things that I watch very closely when I'm in public, my phone and my wallet, don't want either of those to go missing. Now (not really now, this concept has been around for a long time) I can just keep track of one thing.

Drivers license. Medical cards. Etc

What do these magnets do to any magnetic strip type cards? I know most Credit Cards are now chipped, but many other type of cards are still using magnetic strips. I'm wondering if these will get scrambled data after some use.

It attaches to the mini just as well as the other iPhone 12 models, and it’s sized to perfectly match the mini’s corners. What do you mean it’s suboptimal?

Exactly. It goes to the mini’s corners. It has increased risk of being caught on something and it doesn’t look very good.

I really want one of these but I want the mini more. And while Apple claims it’s compatible the photos suggest it’s suboptimal.
Huh?

Exactly! It looks best on the mini! Can‘t wait to get both.

Wait, so this $60 case isn’t an iPhone case with a pocket for credit cards? It’s JUST the pocket for credit cards. You have to spend another $50 for the actual iPhone case??

no thanks
I don’t use cases, and sometimes I’m out with just my phone and a tiny card case, just big enough for my license, insurance cards, one credit card, and an emergency twenty. The card case I use came with the larger wallet that stays in my purse, but I can absolutely see the appeal of using the MagSafe wallet instead.

I’m not sure I’m going to spend the money on it, but it perfectly appeals to how I like to leave the house.

Who would have though what was once the worlds most innovative tech company would end up hawking Sharper Image type gizmos?

it's your point of view... you prefer an all-in-one solution. yes maybe u have to track only one item instead of 3, but if u lose that item u lose all. i prefer having phone+wallet(that i get only when i use car, as for payments i use phone)+home keys. i know that wallet and keys stay always in the pocket so have low risk of being lost/stolen, while the phone is more "volatile". why making "volatile" also credit cards + ID's???
i also dont know why u have to track your wallet. are u one of them with very fat wallet filled with business cards collected during whole life that simulates "cash"? :)
anyway, the apple's idea is only that of making more money selling a piece of crap for 60$, not less, not more!
