I can see them dropping support for 3.5 and 4 inch phones.

Which would effectively kill the excellent Display Zoom feature that lets us use the 4" layout scaled up to a 4.7" screen. I can't tell you how important that is for those of us with vision difficulties, but it only works as long as the 4" layout is supported and app makers care enough to test it when zoomed. Apple's own Podcast app doesn't scale right, making it very difficult to delete older podcasts. I'm sure more and more apps won't effectively support Display Zoom, and it will eventually be pulled. Then we're back to terrible text scaling or zoom-and-pan options.

The Citi Bank App still hasn't updated for iPhone 6 & 6 Plus display support, but if you look at the notes on its App Store listing, it claims that it has.

I too am a bit annoyed by this. I don't know a lot about app development so there very well could be a great reason they aren't updated. I'm sure it's hard work.

But it definitely would be nice to have the apps sharper, and cleaner and not blown up. Takes away from the beautiful screen.

LinkedIn JUST got updated. Not sure if it's news yet. Same app, just optimized.

Looks cool. Somewhat miss the extra large buttons though lol.

You can add Chase Bank, Yahoo Sports, DirecTV, Square, The Weather Channel, Watch ESPN, Dunkin Donuts, and Starbucks to that list as well.

Some devs are terrible but even apple is taking advantage of the huge screen of the 6plus, I mean still 4 icons on the dock and just 3 apps on the multitasking menu?

Amex is updated now; it surprised me when I loaded the app up to finally see the regular sized status bar.

Ebay, Paypal are shameful, and the Weather Channel still being low res is particularly poor considering when I met their promotions team at an event last year they kept going on about how they are the new Apple weather partner and their how great their new iOS app is

Other wall of shame members:

Vodafone (you'd think a mobile provider would be at the forefront)
NHL
EasyJet
CrunchyRool

Kev.

...add Bank of America to the list of apps that need to update for the higher resolution. The app works fine but it would be nice to see it updated to use the screen space better.

With BOA, I have a feeling we may be waiting awhile for them to update to the 6/6+ resolution. I may be mistaken, but I thought it was awhile before they updated their app for the 4" resolution of the iPhone 5.

Nice to see AT&T finally join the party.
If they would only release an iPad app.

The only major one that I use that am shocked when I look at the ugly zoomed in view is:

Waze

Strange because mine still isn't updated and there aren't any updates available in the App Store. Anyone else have Amex updated for the iPhone 6/6 Plus resolutions?

eBay even showed us their update with the widget compatibility at WWDC I think it was. Unless they found a major bug and had to start from scratch? It's quite pathetic that eBay and PayPal haven't yet even made their apps compatible.

when i tweeted eBay bitching they said it would be out by end of nov. its now feb. fail

As I know, that all apps and updates after 2015 Januaey must be compiled with iOS 8 SDK and 64bit support. Maybe for bigger companies it is the biggest reason of delays. From January till now I got only 1-2 app updates from 90, so seems everyone is rebuilding their apps. Just wondering.

On average, for about 150 apps that I have, I've been seeing at least 2 updates a day so far this year, pretty much about the same as before.

I think now all these apps are updated. Now new development technologies helps to easiest way to build the app and reduced the app size too.

SportsCenter app just got a huge rebrand and update.

Yup. New icon, new features, and obviously iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus resolution support.

Lol at in the update notes they make a joke about LeBron taking some time off in Miami.

I just don't get it. It's been months and months. Is it that hard of an update? I think what irks me more than anything is that these apps get constant updates but still not iPhone 6 Plus support... A bunch of these apps even utilize iOS 8 features... Touch ID support, widgets, etc.

Chase
Discover
Amex
eBay
PayPal
LinkedIn
MyVerizon
ESPN Sportscenter: now just "ESPN" and updated for new resolutions inclduing a new icon
Pandora: looks optimized even though App Store doesn't say so

Developers in general are so slow these days, it's unreal. Like you said Ebay and PayPal not being updated yet is a joke. I'm not sure how complicated it is to update apps for the 6 screen, surely tho it cannot be that hard. It also seems unfortunate that developers don't make use of all new features. I haven't seen one single app yet for example that integrates with icloud keychain (not touch ID). Since iOS 8 this is supported so in theory I can autofill my credentials even in an app but of course no one supports it yet and probably won't in the future.

Contrary to what most people think, even at large corporations, there could be just 1 guy working on the iOS app. Most commonly it will be a team of 2-3 developers who have to wait for business analysts, architects, legal, operations, etc to go through requirements and change control process in endless meetings before they can even start coding. Scrum/XP may be common at startups, but everything takes time at large companies.

There was an update pushed out for Amex this past week, but it still doesn't support the 6/6+ resolution.
