Are you sure it’s a problem with the OS? I’ve posted here previously that Quick Look works for me as it always has with .CR2 & .CR3 files from a variety of Canon cameras. I’m on the latest non-Beta version.Is the macOS 15.5 beta fixed this? Has any one tried
Yes it is; tried it on others, use canon 5d mark iv on macOS 15.4 and 15.4.1 and it space bar previews don’t workAre you sure it’s a problem with the OS? Yes. It is present on newly installed version of macOS. But it is not universal and there are differences (from my experience) between Intel and Apple Silicon, and between display colour profiles.Are you sure it’s a problem with the OS?
Hmm, don’t know what to tell you. Quick Look works as expected with my 5d Mark iV files as well as R5 Mark ll files and a number of other models. Hope you get it worked out.Yes it is; tried it on others, use canon 5d mark iv on macOS 15.4 and 15.4.1 and it space bar previews don’t work
Do you have apple silicon mac and you mean Quick Look using space bar to open raw filesHmm, don’t know what to tell you. Quick Look works as expected with my 5d Mark iV files as well as R5 Mark ll files and a number of other models. Hope you get it worked out.
M1 Studio Ultra running 15.4.1. I normally convert my files to .dng when importing but I still have .cr2 & .cr3 files from a variety of Canon Cameras ranging from a 20D to a R5 Markll. Quick Look will correctly display any of them by selecting the file and pressing the space bar.Do you have apple silicon mac and you mean Quick Look using space bar to open raw files
That’s so strange everyone I know is having the same issue, so don’t get how it’s ok for you, no I don’t convert any raw image, it’s straight from the cameraM1 Studio Ultra running 15.4.1. Sorry, I don’t have any idea why so many people are having problems with Quick Look and I’m not but it’s a fact that I’m not. I could show screen captures of it I guess but I don’t know what anyone would be able to tell from them.That’s so strange everyone I know is having the same issue, so don’t get how it’s ok for you, no I don’t convert any raw image, it’s straight from the camera
None of us do. And this is clearly (as you and others have pointed out) not a universal issue. My interpretation of the lack of widespread reporting is that this only affects a minority.I don’t have any idea why so many people are having problems with Quick Look
qlmanage -m | grep -i -e "public.image" -e "raw"
The qlmanage -m
lists all the Quick Look generators installed and the grep
selects just those of interest.qlmanage -m | grep -i -e "public.image" -e "raw"
public.image -> /System/Library/QuickLook/Image.qlgenerator (1002.5.2)
This is a screen recording I made using Quicklook on my M1 Studio Ultra running 15.4.1. The camera files in order are: 5D Markll, 5DSR, Eos 90D, Eos Rebel SL1 & R5 Markll. You'll have to take my word for it that I'm opening the files with the space bar as I have no way to show that.That’s so strange everyone I know is having the same issue, so don’t get how it’s ok for you, no I don’t convert any raw image, it’s straight from the camera
Similar to me but my files have no thumbnail just a blank white "PS" icon as Photoshop is the assigned open with... app for my CR3s. It used to have thumbnails before the recent MacOS updateThis is a screen recording I made using Quicklook on my M1 Studio Ultra running 15.4.1. All of the files I posted have thumbnails except the R5 Markll. However, even without a thumbnail it opens correctly with Quicklook.Similar to me but my files have no thumbnail just a blank white "PS" icon as Photoshop is the assigned open with... app for my CR3s. I do believe you, I just don’t get why some of us are having the issues and some doesn’tThis is a screen recording I made using Quicklook on my M1 Studio Ultra running 15.4.1.
