Major second thoughts on the X

Not even close. It’s just taller but the plus screen is significantly wider. I got my screen protectors in the mail today and I wasn’t happy when comparing the size.... now the X has enough new features that I want so I’m going to deal with it.... but I really hope there’s an XI Plus next year
Because it’s easier, faster and more energy efficient for it to be delivered to me than for me to get in my car and drive and seek it out. 90 + percent of the time I’m happy with the purchase.
You’ll be fine. This is my iPhone X case over the screen of my 8 Plus.

I actually love that it’s not as jumbo as the Plus but has a lot more screen real estate. It’s the perfect combination I’ve been waiting for to have about the same size phone with the bigger screen and high end camera.

I'm kind of with you, I have big hands and have been very happy with the Plus phones since they first came out and never looked back. However I also use an Android phone and kind of did like the S8 while i used it for a few months.
But my main line is with an iphone, it's the phone I talk on, text a ton on, write and receive emails on, and take a ton of pics with (over 35k in my photo album) so all in all I use my iphone alot, which leads me to my point. I really like the size because it gives me the most important aspect these days...A very good battery.
This beautiful screen on the X, full of it's oled glory may be a battery hog, this we will see, and more so, I may just miss the home button and that bigger feeling phone with an already really nice screen?
I just don't know, but like someone said, give it a whirl, you got 14 days, if it's not gelling with your mitts trade up for an 8 plus.
It is launching in 55 countries, and in some countries tomorrow is friday right now.
On the flip side you loose some stuff though, the land scape goodies, and a really big battery.
I love oled screens, however we need to see what magic Apple has worked with this trusty Samsung made screen. I have to believe they (apple) did some major tweaking to help battery life out, but with a really important feature like this we will have to see with real world usage.
The battery difference doesn’t matter when you account for the energy efficiency of the OLED screen.
Again something that needs real world testing, if it's tweaked right it will be a nice thing to upgrade to. I happen to like what I'm hearing about how nice it is in person and not crazy over saturated.
So you think someone will struggle using the X because of a slightly different UI in landscape mode?

You're not alone there. And it's even more excruciating hearing/reading so many so-called 'tech journalists' saying it in what they've laughably been referring to as 'reviews' over the last two days…
