Yeah the initial tests are really easy, the simulator is more of a real test though. I found out I passed on Monday, and have been ChaCha'ing since then, with modest earnings so far.

To adk: yes, people's odd questions can be the most fun part about ChaCha'ing. I got two questions from the same person (he sent it many times) saying "hi r u a grl if so r u hot how old r u whats ur cell number and dont say you cant tell me - hows life" or similar. Those are the easiest to answer though, you can pretty much link to whatever you want, I usually do like a relationships/dating advice site.

Hey guys! I am glad everyone is enjoying chacha!

TaylorWilson, you are right it is really easy. Nice scores sir.

I am not sure who has signed up under my referral and who hasn't. I have gotten some new guys. If you signed up let me know so I can keep track of who is who.

My referrals are going fast so if you still want in live4this13@gmail.com is the email and pm me for help and answers. Thanks!

Alright, so I finished all of the tests and finished the 10 practice questions. What's the next step? lol

Should I wait for a confirmation from Cha Cha saying that I'm good to go?

And if/when l4t13 fills up on referrals (we are only allowed 20), please use me as your referral!

I didn't want to poach since he took the initiative and started this thread, but if anyone is still interested, please PM me, and I'll shoot you my e-mail. :) I'm also around here (and on the ChaCha Forums) a lot, so I can answer any questions people may have. :)

Yes, just wait for them to contact you. It usually doesn't take long.

I almost became a new guide when they opened, but I stopped at the end of the signup because I just didn't think it was a good job. I think I might sign up now just to try it out. BTW, those were some really random questions that people asked you :p.

ChaCha Cuts Par Rate In Half!!!

ChaCha Cuts Pay Rate In Half, Prepares For Implosion

Yesterday ChaCha sent out a message to its guides explaining that it was introducing a "Pay-For-Performance" system that was designed to improve search quality - not a bad idea, given the shoddy results we've seen before. Unfortunately, it seems that ChaCha has blundered this plan too.

Under the new program, "Top Guides" will receive 20 cents per question, which has been the standard rate for experienced guides for some time. Everyone else gets 10 cents per question - half of what they would have gotten under the old system. To become a Top Guide, users must do the following:

*>95% Quality Measurement.* 95% and above completion of answers to questions:* Minimum 300 Searches a week.

That's a lot of searches, given the fact that most experienced users average around one search per minute. In effect, ChaCha is forcing users to work five or more hours per week if they want the higher payrate - something that will totally alienate the site's more casual (but accurate) users. What's worse, there's currently no way to readily see your accuracy score, so users are forced to trust ChaCha's word.

Users are up in arms on the site's private forum (you can see some of the complaints here), with many planning to abandon ChaCha entirely. It's clear that ChaCha is trying to trim their workforce down to a small army of accurate and hardworking searchers, but enraging its entire community only seems to solidify its place in the Deadpool.

ChaCha Changes Raise New Questions—and Not Web Queries

I've had decent luck calling ChaCha from a mobile phone. The human-generated search results are useful only about two thirds of the time, but the service is fast, free, and convenient when on the move. So I hope Jason Kincaid at TechCrunch is wrong in predicting that ChaCha will soon implode.

He predicts ChaCha's pay changes will anger its legions of "guides," the everyday folk who answer queries at 20 cents a pop. ChaCha is going for more quality, requiring guides to be more accurate and answer more questions to continue earning their 20 cents. Otherwise, the pay drops to 10 cents.

Quality seems a good goal. And the top pay seems enough to attract workers. Guides can pull down about $12 an hour if they answer a query a minute, which sounds doable. Not great moneybut better pay than deep-frying fries—and from the comfort of home.

Kincaid might be right about guides abandoning ChaCha. Also, it's never been clear how ChaCha is going to make money.

A hint for the latter came recently when ChaCha said it will offer similar, mobile-answer services to advertisers. Coca-Cola is the first to sign up. Hopeful sign, I guess, though I'm pressed trying to think of anything I'd want to ask. Maybe, "Where can I find New Coke for sale?"

Yeah, I'm not happy. I have no problem at all with the accuracy requirement, but because of health issues and other things, I can't always work enough to answer 300+ queries in a week. That means that though I'm usually over 95% accurate, I'm going to get bumped down to half my pay rate for some weeks.

ChaCha Guide worker

I'm just posting to make anyone who wants to know aware that ChaCha is in the process of recruiting new members to work for them. You get paid a fair some amount for working at home and you make your own hours!! I've been a member for a little bit and would like to direct people to the link to where to go register........ https://guideregistration.chacha.com/ If you need questions for the test, shoot me an e-mail at nwlinebacker35@yahoo.com for help. I would greatly appreciate it if you would put my e-mail as your referring e-mail who directed you there. Thanks for reading this and i hope i healped those who did.

Occasionally I work for CHA CHA too as an expiditor not veryone gets paid the 10-20 cent rate just the generalists and specialists. Expiditors get paid 2-3 cents for every question they sort, send out or quick answer so for some involved its not that easy to make 20 to 30 dollars a day(more like 5 to 10 a day) but if you do it long enough you'll see a little supplemental income I just don't suggest making it a career.
