What's wrong with you guys?? Does U.S. always has to get special treatment? Can someone explain to me why I should be treated worse than U.S. customer?

If Apple were a Polish company, based in Poland, wouldn't you expect them to take care of their domestic customers before other countries?

Society is so ridiculously pampered and impatient. Oh no, a delay... What WILL you do with your empty life until Apple watch comes along to temporarily fulfill you?

Maybe they'll send you free pocket packs of Kleenex to dry your weeping eyes :''(

I don't think that it's unreasonable for people to express disappointment when a product that was announced months ago (and has been much-hyped by Apple and the media) appears to be delayed before anyone has had a chance to order one.

I do, however, think it is unreasonable for a complete stranger to make sweeping judgments about one's quality of life based on something they read in this forum, which should be the perfect place to express such disappointment since the entire focus of the forum is Apple products. I think your post says more about you than anyone else.

Any idea when appointments can be made for trying on the watch? Will they start to allow us make appointments on Thursday for Friday? Or do we have to wait for Friday to make an appointment?

With all the hype and self promotion Apple have done regarding this product, it would appear Tim Cook has placed a hell of a lot of he companies future on this one product.

They have spent months building interest. The important dates have been public for a couple of months so they would have been known within apple since before Christmas.

Yet there is still going to be a significantly restricted supply at launch? That is pathetic. There is no excuse for it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that even if the Watch is a complete flop, Apple will go on happily with 100s of billions of dollars in the bank and still be the most valuable company on earth.

Has Apple said anything about the upgrade path for the Watch? Seems to me that with the bands/cases basically built to last a lifetime, a screen that's already at Retina, and minimal ability/desire to add buttons, upgrading to 2.0 or etc could be as painless as popping the case open and swapping out the PCB.

That would certainly put a different perspective on the price of admission into this world....

Yes...? No....?

I think we might be reaching here. Just because some app in some country shows those lead times, doesn't mean a lot.

It will come down to what it actually says on the day when you can actually order.

They are probably just testing the system.

I wonder who gave the go ahead on this entire line...

Releasing a product line that ranges in price from 350.- to 17.000 tells me that some of the Apple execs should move from their ivory towers back to the garage where Job's and co started the company.... They have clearly lost touch with their customer base.

This would be like Bentley releasing a new car where the top model costs 200,000 but they also offer a version with the same engine but a plastic body:)

Of course the buyers of the cheap model have to use the special back entrance...

I think Apple is starting to Jump The Shark.

Honestly, if I can't get it on launch day I will be holding off until I can get one refurbished from Apple or 2nd gen.

What a mess having so many different versions makes. How about just the 2 sizes in 2 colors for each tier watch and you sell all the stupid bands separately from the get go.

The gold one will be discontinued in 2-3 months any way.

Hopefully U.S. will get special treatment.
The US already does get special treatment. Read the price tag. Then read the price tags of Apple products in other countries. You'll easily see the special (pricing) treatment the US get.

Even factoring in (or adding) taxes the special treatment is there.

The Apple 1 cost $666.66 back in July 1976.
That is $2,908.55 in today's dollars.
Jobs garage computer was not cheap either. Apple has always catered for quality and priced their products accordingly. Apple have never sold anything cheaply.

A screenshot with British Pounds is proof for something that happened in the German Apple Online Store. Seriously? Macrumors, get your **** together.

Honestly if it's an additional 4-6 weeks I very well just may lose interest. I'm not even sure im 100% sold so delaying it just gives me more time to think about NOT ordering it.

This wait has been going on for what seems like forever. Honestly going to be pissed if I order and get a another 2 - 4 week wait after the two more week wait.

I'm not saying that the watch should be cheaper.... I'm saying that they are out to lunch with the three price ranges. Make a watch, offer different bands and see how it goes.... Why offer a $17,000 model?

I'm 100% convinced I want one, but if they're having huge stock problems, I'm tempted to blow off the launch and wait until stock is established. Well established.

as much as I'd love that, I think it's possibly the most unApple idea to be posted on here.

I do feel it might very well be like the appleTv and hardware changes being fewer between, this may be the model for 2-3 years with software changes being the only prominent upgrades

This announcement was completely predictable. It's Apple's clever marketing spin in action. Creating a "you can't have one" level of anxiety assures customers will be frantic. It always works.

I'm sure you're right. Look at how long Apple has milked the same style phone.

It's corporate profit taking at its finest.

Apple wins big!

Sounds to me like Apple's web masters put in some dummy dates to test the system and they mistakenly made it to the actual product page. It's so fricking funny how people jump to conclusions and that they are smarter than Apple execs even though they think $350 is a lot of money for iPhone users.

You are right. IF the watch were to be a complete flop it wouldn't put them out of business. BUT it would be devistating blow just for the simple fact it's the first new post Jobs product. This watch is a HUGE release for apple and investors. And I better get mine on the 24th. :)

It's the Apple hype machine at its finest.

I am very interested to see how the apple watches will fit into today's society and even create a new demand for a whole slew of things. Need some time to see the changes

Weirdest Apple product launch ever, so far. Definitely can't call Apple predictable anymore.
I have a theory: Apple intended to announce the Watch mid '15 and ship late '15, but they decided to bring the timeline forward and announce early, partly due to the relative success of Android Wear, Pebble etc.

  • At the 2014 announcement, the demo Watches were prototypes.
  • The march '15 event gave use more information, but it was still a month before we could prerecord. Keep people interested.
  • April 10th preorder and the first time the general public have the opportunity to see it in person.
  • April 24th some people can actually get the product.
  • Now it seems that many people will have to waits weeks (?) to receive their watch.

All of this to keep people interested while the engineers finished the software and initial production be begin.
