This is my problem with AT&T. Incredibly slow speeds on LTE. I'm in N Fort Worth. Other areas are not as bad but also not as good as I've experienced in the past. Time to get this fixed AT&T!!

That's normal for AT&T for the last year or so all over the western US.

Their network is woefully overloaded and I doubt they'll be able to fix it for years. But they're an oligopoly and have no real incentive to fix anything quickly.

Everybody and their mom watching videos on their phones and tablets was an easily foreseeable problem, and they probably knew it was coming, but again, as an oligopoly, had no reason to care.

The lesson of this? Don't use a carrier that has "Telegraph" as part of its name (American Telephone & Telegraph - AT&T)

I've got a Verizon iPad Air and it won't connect at LTE, only 3G. I guess it could be our local tower (Socorro, NM). ...or I guess it could just be saying it's doing 3G. Nothing seems very slow.

...no, it's slow. But Peace helps a lot!

im glad I left AT&T two months ago and made a switch to T-Mobile. In my area my LTE speeds are much faster and calls are more reliable. Also love having unlimited data wherever I go.

I noticed this in a few areas near me, but it seemed to only affect certain towers…I had it happen with the 9.0.x beta and now the 9.1 beta. Apart from this (which is mostly an inconvenience at this point), I don't have many complaints about AT&T in my area, but to each their own. Hopefully it's something easy to fix and just a bad DNS or CDN issue.

Nothing much to add here. Just kinda amused that Sprint is no longer big enough to even get a mention in MacRumors articles any more, is all.

(FWIW, my Sprint iPhone seems to be able to grab app updates over LTE fine. It's actually better than the extremely slow WiFi at work these days.)

Glad it's not just me! But not glad it's happening!

Yesterday to AND from home on my hour long commute, I tried streaming my favorites playlist, and it would load 2 seconds and pause. But it was weird, as soon as I got into city limits, (even though I had strong LTE the whole way), suddenly my streams started working again.

I've been having this problem for the last week. Seems to have gotten better today. After doing some research, there's threads on AT&T and Apple forums dating this issue back to early as July. At&T sucks.

Same here with Australian carriers, American carriers aren't alone, however the issue is getting looked at and some of it was fixed like Apple Music but app updates is still getting sorted

With phone carriers messing with Edy's operation like me this, they better not be surprised when Edy's boss Tim leans on them by approving the the Bell initiative.

Blames iOS for the issue. This is becoming old news.

The bigger question that wasn't really addressed in the article is if devices not running iOS are having the same problem. If things are running at regular LTE speeds for other devices, but not working for iOS...

I'm glad we finally got this on the front page of MacRumors, I'm able to download apps over LTE now but it's still extremely slow and I'm currently getting 25mbps down and 5mbps up in my current location. Prior to today apps did not progress at all when downloaded.

Finally some confirmation on this, was getting sick of iTunes Match not downloading files.. or taking forever. Hopefully someone issues a fix soon!
