I switched back to Sprint from AT&T last year. I used them back in 1999-2001 when they were awful and switched to AT&T who were even worse. Sprint cut my AT&T bill in half for the same service.

Sprint has been great. No issues at all. And, unlike AT&T, you get free tethering. I'm saving a ton of money.

There are so many good jokes you could make here about Sprint..
But it just feels mean to the users of Sprint, so not going there..

My main issue with iOS 11 and still has not been improved:

*When I share a link and send via iMessage, I get an error message.

*iphone 6s plus restarts when I use safari - I don’t have this issue with iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen (very strange).

In regards to WiFi call, I cannot confirm as of yet, but will do if I do come across.

You’re joking, right? I have Sprint and it’s barely usable anywhere in the eastern part of the United States

I'm on Sprint and I find it very useful. I have very little issues with it. I am having issues with WIFI calling but their CDMA calls are rock solid. LTE is very good as well.

That's not what network quality metrics that compare carriers say. Nor is it my experience. I live in the eastern US and travel up and down the east coast, and service is quite good.

Looks like it just started working for me, looks like there's a new carrier settings update from Sprint out. (I'm actually on Ting, but they operate their CDMA network on Sprint's network).

Every time I tried WiFi calling with Verizon on both my 7 and now X, the call rings and then fails immediately when the person picks up, or when I pick up. Call back, same thing. Maybe the 3rd time it will work. I just turned it off, too annoying.

Sprint customers with an iPhone are widely reporting that Wi-Fi calling does not work after installing iOS 11.2 and carrier settings version 31.0.

wifi-calling-iphone-7-800x436.jpg

Hundreds of complaints have surfaced across the web, including the MacRumors discussion forums, Sprint and Apple Support Communities, Twitter, and Reddit, since the software update was released earlier this month.

All models of the iPhone that support Wi-Fi calling appear to be affected, ranging from the iPhone 6 to iPhone 8 Plus, among others.

It's unclear if the issue is due to iOS 11.2 or the updated carrier settings, which support features like Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE. AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile customers are not affected, suggesting this is a carrier-specific problem.

Many affected customers have performed basic troubleshooting, such as resetting the iPhone's network settings or simply turning the device off and on again, but there doesn't appear to be a solution that works on iOS 11.2.

As a temporary workaround, some users have downgraded to iOS 11.1.2 and found that Wi-Fi calling becomes functional again.

MacRumors does not have an iPhone on the Sprint network in its possession, so we're unable to reproduce the issue. Sprint directed us towards Apple, which has not responded to multiple requests for comments over the past few days.

Last week, a support representative on Sprint's website relayed that the carrier plans to apply a temporary fix across a limited number of Wi-Fi calling servers while evaluating a long-term solution to the apparent bug. After several days, however, Wi-Fi calling is only working intermittently at best for some customers.

Apple also appears to be collecting data from affected customers who contact the company so that its engineers can investigate the matter, as it routinely does with any potential hardware or software issues.

For those unaware, with Wi-Fi calling, you can make or receive a phone call if you have a Wi-Fi connection in an area with little or no cellular coverage. The feature can be enabled in Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling.

Update: Sprint says it is "actively working to resolve this" issue. A company representative said Sprint will "implement some additional changes" on late December 11 to increase Wi-Fi calling capacity. "This should get us to the optimal performance that is expected," the employee wrote.

So my issue is that people say I sound garbled or far away intermittently. I never had this problem with my iPhone 6. I spent 2 hours dealing with Apple who pleasantly tried everything. I got a new phone from them to rule out hardware issues. This didn’t solve the problem. I went to sprint. The tech tells me that I should go back to my 6 (which of course I don’t have bc you can’t get a new phone for a decent price without giving up your old phone) bc the sprint network can’t handle the new phone. So I call sprint. They tell me it’s apples fault or the recent snow I’ve had here. I explain this has been happening since the day I got the phone. She tells me it’s not sprint. I don’t know what to do. I know I have an 1100 dollar paper weight that I can’t use to make phone calls. I’m aggravated with no answer on how to fix this issue. I have literally tried everything. Rebooting the phone. Replaced it. Did every one of the 50 things both companies told me to do. Nothing has fixed the problem. I can hear who I’m talking to fine but people can’t hear me. Anyone else having this issue?

Sprint issued Carrier Update 31.1 which does rectify the issue.

tap the (31.1) in Settings > General > About

you get extra information

Wonder that that NAI data is ? ok I looked it up

(The Network Access Identifier (NAI) is the userID submitted by the client during network access authentication. In roaming, the purpose of the NAI is to identify the user as well as to assist in the routing of the authentication request. NAI's resemble e-mail addressed but may not necessarily be the same as the user's e-mail address or the userID submitted in an application layer authentication.)

I too did not get Wifi calling on my new iPhone x - then I noticed I forgot to activate it in settings :)

Sounds like poor wifi signal or lack of upstream bandwidth.

The benefit of Apple. A symbiosis of hardware and software. Cutting out the carrier.

In fact cutting out the carrier so much it's features don't work :D
When I said that in another thread basically indicating that Apple could effectively force out CDMA someday, with or without full carrier support, just to eliminate Qualcomm if Intel can't hack it...

I was basically ignored.

How much more needs to happen to prove that Apple can and does influence the markets for carriers?

Scrap what I said. Carrier update didn’t work. However everyone got Carrier 31.1

Its Sprint....the only network to disable talk and text at the same time....
The only network to BRAG about being worse than the other guys (we're only 1% less than them)
Sprint where you have unlimited access (assuming of course you have a signal)
Stuck on Sprint because its the network my work uses so......
