Maybe he was hired to help Johny Ive design iPhone that doesnot bend :p

----------

Maybe but isn't the watch design done?
He may very well be a part of that and the future of the watch.

Apple obviously aims to provide multiple :apple:Watch variants along with endless counts of straps. A lot of design work needed there.

Look how self-absorbed they look. Apple isn't about the product anymore since Jobs left. Cook and Ive may think it is. But in actuality it's all about them now. Everyone's faces and names front and center, the products almost secondary.

And look at how badly everything is falling apart. The sad thing is that I get no sense that Cook and Co even realize what the problém is. They seem to be focused on solar power plants and gold-plated doodads marketed by celebrities. Practically the complete opposite of what Jobs would have ever done.

Apple became who they were by doing the things the way Jobs thought they should be done. Now they've done a 180.

Because the way Jobs did things is the only way things should be done forever.

Hmmm....
Well, since they're two of the most highly renowned industrial designers of our time & neither is a salesman... I think I'd rather buy a watch DESIGNED by them, than FROM them.
Though I suppose, if I had the money, and if either were selling off their personal watch collection- I (& any sane watch collector on this planet) would be VERY interested. I'm sure they own some stellar timepieces.

That sure was a weird hypothetical question btw...
Did you somewhere hear a rumor that these two are going to be selling watches at some point in the future, or just being snarky in a really dumb way??

I bet you're fun at parties.

Lol, I can be funny & I appreciate funny.
I didn't find this funny though. However, original poster's RESPONSE was quite funny to me and I immediately upvoted it!!! I never hold grudges online if I have a differing opinion or sense of humor as somebody else.

So true. I thought they were on the right track, but then they realsed the Apple Watch(es). All style and no substance.

Apple is missing someone with the balls to call it how it is; kill the fluff and get that zeroed-in focus.

Because the way Jobs did things is the only way things should be done forever.

At Apple, yep.

Sadly I agree, if the best these two can come up with is the Apple Watch then it's pretty disappointing. The iPhone 6 was basically a pretty big "meh" which we all try to hype up to ourselves while being disappointed inside (not even mentioning iOS 8) and to think it was because they were focussed on the Watch which came out as it did makes me think it'll be time to jump ship next time I'm in the market for a tech device...

contemplating on a watch myself. but not sure if I will. I hope the watch is not gonna be changing like the phone.....Every YEAR!!

At Apple, yep.

I don't see Apple's core values changing. I think they still want to make the best products in the world. But they're going through growing pains. Just a few years ago revenues were ~$45B. This year Cook says revenues will probably be close to $180B. It's impossible to keep doing everything the way Steve did. Apple's just too big now.

Not sure you're using "nonetheless" correctly.
It means like "despite the fact".
Unless you think they look BETTER old & fat, yet this photo is good "despite the fact" that they look young & slender... it makes no sense, sir.
He means, "despite the fact they altered the photo". That's why "nonetheless" was linked to "good photo". Altering photos is a heated topic among people who do or don't think we should ever alter photos.

Not sure if the photo was actually altered, but that is the grammar lesson.

Uses "an extremely refined use of color", their colors are way better than other shirts' colors. Worth every penny!!

is it just me or is it pretty obvious he was hired to help with the design of the :apple:watch in some way.

The fluoroelastomer Apple Watch straps are spitting images of the ones used on some of his Ikepod watches.

Jony Ive Photo - Happy/Sad Face

There was something bugging me about that photo of Jony Ive.
I just couldn't put my finger on it.
Well actually, that's exactly what I did. I covered the right side of his face with my finger and noticed that the left side of his face is actually smiling.
I then covered the left side of his face and noticed that the right side is a distinct unhappy, almost stern face.
How bizarre!!

I mean is that even possible? Can a person express two opposing emotions in their facial expression(s)?
I guess they can.

LOL, a gimmick hire in an attempt to drive interest in one of the stupidest products the company has made since the Pippin.

There's going to need time to ramp up, but by the 3rd release of the watch, I bet you can get to at least 1 in 5 iphone users having an apple watch.

It's not iphone-level adoption, but it's nothing to shake a stick at either.

It's not so bizarre.

Jony is smiling because he's still being paid the same amount as always.

He's sad because he knows there's only so long before he's rumbled that even he's ran out of ideas now ...

And the guy on the left is just happy he's on the payroll for ..whatever ... Nice.
