I've installed and ran new versions of Mac OS X on release day since Panther and have had no hiccups whatsoever. Panther and Snow Leopard, in particular were fairly smooth upgrades. Tiger would've been smoother were it not for the fact that my optical drive was dead and I was installing it on a G3, and Leopard was smooth, it was just bloated, but that's Leopard for ya. I've never seen nor experienced any bugs with the 10.x.0 release, at least not before the 10.x.1 update is released (which is usually sooner than a month, btw

)
You should similarly acknowledge that people in this forum with that opinion make up a small minority of Mac users at large, especially when it comes to products like the 13" MacBook Pro for which there is a large customer base for.
Talk to most people in an Apple Store, you'll be surprised to find out that you've been the disbeliever all along.

There is a chance that the 15" and 17" models will be the only ones updated this round. Also, the refurb 13" MacBook Pro at $999 is too good of a deal to pass up if you're in the market for one, imminent refresh or not. It's not like the refreshes immediately affect the cost of refurbished models anyway.
