Is the March 24th event still on? If so, which products will be released there?

I want an update to the iPhone firmware, specifically the PNS or background app solution and I think that an event like this might include an update on the iPhone. Thoughts?

I want apple to roll some eye candy for my iphone  then by 2012 the PNS or background app solution or even copy paste.
thankss

I want PNS as much as the next guy ... But I don't think we're getting it in March.

I'm betting on June at the earliest - and that's assuming a "3.0" firmware comes out at that time.

Why does it have to be in 3.0? Wasn't it originally in 2.1 but, they pulled it out before the initial release. Also, wasn't push supposed to be out in September of last year? They could release it tomorrow... they don't need an event for it.

I want to laugh at this thread now, because the iPod Shuffle announcement was enough to put down the idea of an event.

Buddy, I'm tired of your speculation about an event. They might announce and release it, doesn't mean an event would/could occur because it's just a god damn software update.

...Why the heck would you waste money on an event when you could have done it at the same time when the Macs come out? Answer that.

Look buddy, if they would announce these things, they won't do it in a March 24th event. I don't get why you still want to continue on discussing the possibility of a March 24th event when you clearly have no back-up to that idea except for a bunch quickies that could be done by announcements. If Apple wanted an event, they should have done it with the iMacs, but now that it isn't. Too bad, wait till WWDC, that's when the major 3.0 or 2.3 upgrade will come. You are just listing on all the rumors that may happen.

Event =! Announcement

*OP, read over this thread one more time. You don't have any hard evidence or good speculation.

Listen to me.

Apple. Introduced. A new iMac. Mac Mini. And Mac Pro. With no event.

They will NOT do an event for ANY SOFTWARE other than Snow Leopard in June at WWDC.

Ummmmm..... https://www.macrumors.com/2009/03/12/apple-to-preview-iphone-os-3-0-on-march-17th/

....*crickets*.....

Thoughts guys? Anyone eating their words?

An EVENT to bring the iPhone to China.
no.
an event in America to bring the iPhone to China.
Yes.

and Adobe already said they are working on flash.
the most likely thing if there is an event would be 3.0
-which would have push and multi tasking in it.

i love me.

So what about a launch of the 2.3 firmware on the 24th.....?

I know you guys are gonna bash me, but just throwing it out there.

It *could* happen, but we were stuck with 1.1.4 for 5 months before 2.0 was downloadable. I have a feeling, we're going to be using 2.2.1 for a while now.
