Only reason it ended so close is because of the ghost technical on Illinois and the fact they brought fans in from the stands to play the last minute and a half.

Thus far, the biggest disappointment for me today was with the Marquette loss to Bama. After being down 15 at the half, then coming back like they did, I thought they were going to step up, but fizzled. No difference though, as I think neither Marquette (out) nor Alabama will get by UCLA the next game.

Should be a great weekend - I'm heading to VT to go skiing, watch hoops & celebrate St. Paddy's Day (aka, the 'perfect storm'), so I won't be online at all.

I use to love Iowa basketball. They WERE good. This year they didn't exactly play well but I figured they could win the first round. Losing to Northwestern St. though is unacceptable.

And yes at least I got the Bucknell win right.

I'm going to watch the Northern Iowa-Georgetown and Southern Illinois-West Virginia games very closely. I couldn't believe the ranting by Packer and Nantz during the selection show about how the poor major conferences like the Big East got shafted in favor of MVC teams. Well, the Big East is 0-3 and the MVC is 1-0, with that victory coming over a Big East team. We've two more Big East-MVC matchup going on right now and they look to be good ones. I can't tell you how giddy I'll be if UNI and SIU win.

its funny, I knew IOWA wasn't a final four team ... which was an argument I had a lot this week and I knew Illinois deserved that 3 seed ... but people bought a little high on them and paid the price (Note that I had them winning that game and falling to WV)

I'm pretty happy with my picks so far (three loses but only one sweet 16 team so far which is important). Yesterday was a record 15-1 for me ... I was rather happy with that.

Man! My Winthrop pick came *this close* to panning out. So far that's my biggest disappointment. I whiffed on Nevada and Iowa losing, but didn't have either team in the Sweet 16 anyway.

Wow -- Albany is giving UConn some sort of fits. Probably more a function of UConn playing like utter crap than anything else. It would serve me right for my pick to win the whole enchillada to end up being the first 1 seed to fall to a 16...
