Last week, Apple released and then pulled a software tool that accidentally contained identifiers for many unreleased devices and chips, according to MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris. His findings included new models of the Studio Display, Apple TV, Apple Watches, Apple Vision Pro, iPad mini, HomePod mini, and more.

Here is what was uncovered in the file, according to MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris:As always, nothing is official yet and Apple's plans could change.

In his Power On newsletter today, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman responded to the leaks.

"The findings corroborate a lot of what I've reported, including that fresh Apple TV and HomePod mini models will arrive this fall, that new iPads are in the works for next year, and that updated monitors are coming," he wrote.

Gurman added that he continues to hear that Apple is testing versions of the Vision Pro with the M4 chip, despite the code pointing to a new model with an M5 chip. It is plausible that Apple has considered both options, though, he said.

So, expect the Vision Pro to get an M4 chip or newer. It will be a minor upgrade either way.

The current Vision Pro has an M2 chip.

So very hard for me to get even the slightest bit excited about what looks like just chip updates.

Agreed..

The real story in the leaks, a sad story indeed, is how much of a nothing burger the "updates" all are.

I sure hope the iPad Mini leak omitted a big screen update.
I can't even imagine just chip bumping that without putting a way better screen on there, finally.

Yep. Smaller, faster, cooler chips are great.

I just wish they’d put these chips into NEW product ideas that take advantage of this. That’s what Apple use to do…excite consumers with ‘one more thing’.

I would expect the Studio Display update to at least be a move to mini-LED. I can't imagine that after four years, all they would do is a chip swap.

Then again, it's Apple. They famously "updated" the AirPods Max after four years without even doing a chip swap. 🤦‍♂️

So im confused here. Are we getting the Ipad pro M5 this year or next spring? Or are we going to lauch the pro's separately and then the airs, mini and basic models later? I hate when they do that. Just have an ipad only event, have a mac only event, and a iphone, watch and airpods only event....its real simple.... Iphones and accessories in September, Macs in October, Ipads in the spring.

As for the Apple TV....as long as it has the capability to add in a webcam so i can facetime on it without resorting to using my ipad or iphone to do it on the tv, i dont really see what else you can do with it.

I mean, there’s currently a $599 M1 MacBook Air at Walmart if you’re in the US.
What I'm hoping is that the rumored MacBook will be ultra light and thin, vs just inexpensive. We shall see.

Yeah, as much as I still love the AirPods Max I bought at launch, that "update" was really disappointing.

But it also saved me $500 because I would have probably updated to get the H2 features like Adaptive Audio. Maybe they did me a favor?

Lighter and thinner than the beautiful tapered M1 Air?

I ended up selling mine ... the headband kept stretching out after a while and I was just tired of pumping money into them at this point.

A creative way to talk about new products without the downside if the products do not arrive. Apple learned from the fiasco of AI hardware release.

My prediction based on my gut: no $599 MB, no benefit to Apple. Cheaper iPads with keyboards can cover the lower end. Would rather Apple further pro MBP: fat battery, fat cooling, fat speakers, more upgradable, more powerful, not thinner. MBA should be un-gimped making the machine real-world port practical and fully interoperable with MBP in all environments. Tons of ways to differentiate MBP. And bring back that 2015 ergo-wedge design for the Air. MBP can have three Thunderbolt 5, aiming for four later on. Lose the non-pro chip MBP models. MBA can have two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one on each side, along with the other ports MBP has.

My cousin works aa an engineer at Apple. He confirms that M4 depends on how much stock leftover to implement the M4. Apple knows it won't sell.

Apple should take the stock hit, and take an entire year off to rebrand and get itself together. They pulled out from WWDC because they didn’t want to feel pressured to announced something with a restrictive yearly time table. Now many years later, they’re back to forcing yearly update.

Uh huh. You and a number of others Mark. Don't act like this leak is your exclusive.
