Heres the thing about these leaks that kinda piss people off. They are obvious leaks. Of course apple has to change something to put out a new generation (or yearly release) of a product otherwise people wouldent buy them. If its something as borning as a new chip, its not a big deal. We all want to be excited about some major change like a OLED folding phone or faceID in an ipad mini or a total redesign of the device or the new opperating system. Something tangable for us to say "Ok this is new thus worth the cost of upgrading or trading in"
Thats totally understandable but theres no way apple, or any tech company can do that every single year. New chip upgrades lay the foundation for future software revisions down the line, new capablities.
Also with new dramatic changes to a device comes potential risks as well. Say the rumors are true and next year we get the folding iphone.... no one knows long term how thats going to hold up. You can test for only so many things in a lab somewhere.
Also lets say every single device gets a 120HZ oled screen and super fast chip and faceID and touch id and everything we ever wanted....we would still be disapointed some new magical thing isnt there. It be "Apple finally catching up" instead of brand new device.
We all want to relive that magic of getting our first apple device! Thats totally understandable but its next to impossable to recapture that magic.
I find the older i get, the more things stay the same. There will always be a new device rumored over the horizon and we will all build it up in our minds before it comes out then when it does come out will will bitch and moan about how expensive it is, or how limited, or how we dont see a use for it, or what flaws it has, but the same people will also bitch and moan when a tried and true device like the iphone only gets a minor borning change and we complain its not worth it either.
Im guilty of this myself. totally 100% own up to it.
The reality is, you dont have to buy the new stuff and as long as the old stuff works for you, stick with it. Apple cant re invent the wheel every year and even if they did they would have way more failures then sucesses. Sometimes its better to have small minor upgrades laid over time building to a major one every few years.
Thats how i see it.
