We can hate on LeZuck all we want but he has a valid point. He was probably scared Apple would make some revolutionary use for it (which they would have to copy) but in the end there’s nothing new. Just done much better. I think developers is what will make Vision Pro shine
These types of comments almost never age well. I don't hate him for giving a candid opinion, though.
I don't like the man but it's true. There is not one killer app.
Don't really care about both of them. Nothing can be better than a real life with God given senses. Everything else is a utopia, but somebody will exploit people and make tons of money from that.

Yup. Hard agree. This will be what the devs make it to be. That’s what helped push the iPhone into greater depth when the App Store came.
Both headsets are overpriced garbage and trying to get us connected to some gross Skynet.
I’m very curious what he honestly means by the concept of the apple device being isolating, is his intention for people to walk around outside wearing the Quest 3? At least the Apple device has the ability to emulate eye contact, has pass through of people when immersed, and has a realistic look for you in FaceTime.
The price I suppose is true, but on the other hand, barely anybody bought a Quest 2 for $300, why would they buy a Quest 3 for $500? And then you have the obvious text clarity issues that make this a bad productivity device, something I can personally confirm to you as a Quest 2 owner. It genuinely hurts to read.

he isn't claiming he has a magical solution. i hate the dude, but people are misinterpreting what he says on purpose it seems.
this isn't a iPhone though, its a 3500 bucks device that has 2 hours of battery life that's seeking to solve problems that don't exist.
What he doesn't get is that I've had and have multiple Oculus (I'm not calling it Meta, so stupid to drop the name and make it...the parent company) headsets and there's one chief reason I'm stocked on the Vision platform: Actual Apple intregration over barely any with Oculus.

If anything, the Vision Pro will help sell Quests-- for a while at least.
When little Jimmy gets excited about the Vision Pro and can't have one because it's over $3000, he's going to have to settle for the cheaper option if he wants any kind of VR experience.

No doubt. This is why the VR community was so excited over the idea of Apple making an HMD even if it would be out of price of general consumers, because it would bring a lot of interest into VR/AR and bring in new headset sales
So for a while Apple's success will be Meta's success...at least until the consumer model arrives, then history is gonna repeat itself just like it did with the iPhone.
