Max is Going to Be HBO Max Again

Now it's great time to read their claims in 2023 again, and see how their promises on the rebranding goes.
They got rid of most of the D+ stuff this month. Gone. Some random seasons of this and that but the entire library of D+ stuff is gone.

Two years after changing the name of HBO Max to just Max, Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is reversing its decision. Starting this summer, Max is going to be rebranded as HBO Max.
It turns out that it may have been a bad idea dropping the well-recognized HBO brand name from the Max streaming service and opting for a much more generic name. In a blog post explaining the decision, WBD says that the HBO brand is best known for its consistent, high-quality content, which is what the company wants to focus on.
WBD says that the decision to go back to HBO Max demonstrates the company's willingness to use "consumer data and insights" to "position itself for success," suggesting the name change and the effort to include Discovery content for a wider audience wasn't popular with customers.
WBD Streaming CEO JB Perrette said that going forward, HBO Max won't provide "everything for everyone," but "something distinct and great for adults and families."
The HBO service has undergone several rebranding efforts over the years. The first HBO streaming service was known as HBO Go, and it later became HBO Now. HBO Now was rebranded as just HBO, and then it became HBO Max. After that it was just Max, and now we're back to HBO Max.

How much are these executives paid to decide to bring 'HBO' - a name synonymous with quality TV - back to a brand?
They get some credit for figuring out that “Max” is about as memorable as a company called “Plus” or as searchable as a company called “AND”, or maybe that HBO was pretty much synonymous with “prestige TV shows” so maybe it’s worth using it.
But taking this long to figure out the boneheaded mistake they should
never have made in the first place is, frankly, pathetic. It’d be like hiring a CEO of Starbucks who then decided to rename the company Large, or if Ferrari decided to rebrand as Touring.

We have an executive, Mr. X who decided to switch and now to go back. A lot of money trashed and probably he even took bonus for doing the two brand renaming projects. In addition a lot of consultant, etc etc...
The question is how it's possible that we have executive trashing money and so companies that to recover those money lay off employees, reduce salary...

It does actually take courage to admit you screwed up royally. For that, I salute WBC.
And for the decision to drop the HBO name in favor of the generic, non-descriptive MAX, I will forever continue to ridicule those very same individuals
On par with the Finnish post office (previously called Posti) rebranding itself into Itella (which means nothing) in 2007, only to reverse course 7 years later
Yeah that’s the shocking thing - you just know that several people and likely their branding agency got paid large sums for this debacle. Up to the shareholders to do something about it, but still.
What we need is one subscription where we can view all video content, regardless of studio or producer. Like Apple Music.
Every brand could have a channel where you can view their top shows. Viewers can zap between those live channels, record shows and watch stuff on demand.
