While I can afford, not sure if I’m willing to pay for the 12.9. Marketing @Apple needs to pull their heads out of their collective 4ss3s. I’m sure some of this is increased pandemic/chip related supply chain costs being passed on, but with a magic keyboard, pitaka case to protect the ends, Zagg elite protector, and Smart Cover... it is MORE expensive and a fully optioned M1 MacBook Pro that comes with a keyboard and 16GB RAM

The question is if it's only the 2 TB one that has a higher amount of RAM, I could be tempted for 512 GB if it has more RAM than the 128 GB one.

You know what would absolutely make this device, such that people no longer have to double guess the idea of buying one instead of a traditional computer, especially when it costs more than a lot of them now? DeX. Really, that's it. Give it a desktop mode like Samsung's tablets and smartphones do, so that people will have a more traditional environment to work when they need it. It's M1 running a similar OS to the Macs, so maybe it can even run applications made for the Apple Silicon Macs.

It would be a great move. I've seen multiple people say that they actually prefer the experience of using the Galaxy Tab S7+ because of DeX. Of course, they don't have the iPad's library of apps over there. Why not make a best of both worlds?

Well, for the first time in history iPad isn't handicapped by the amount of RAM, which it nice. The 6GB previous gen was decent though, just not future proof enough.

I rather have the future 30" iMac if we are going that expensive, and keyboard is not extra.

Does the $2400 include the pencil/keyboard as shown in the image?
Obviously not, as it’s an accessory. Otherwise the price you’d be looking at is $2850+, a fair share higher than what most people would even consider. Best to keep the optionals... optional.

New iPad Pro, yes, most likely.
2tb? Probably not for me. My wife... debatable.

It is a pretty damn good upgrade for me. I am not too picky.
Do what I need it to do and we're good.
I don't have to many expectations, just perform or I look elsewhere, but this dog looks like it'll run.
Definitely stick with your wife, instead of trading her for the iPP 2TB. :p

The front-facing camera is still on the side (portrait mode) instead of the middle (landscape mode)?
Are you kidding me?

Anyone who does serious video conferencing knows how awkward it is to video conference with the front-facing camera on the side. It's the worst possible positioning.

So far it looks like that has more RAM and memory than the new iMac. Hopefully it will have some configuration options as well.
