How can you live with those fonts on the Geektool!!! I would die having to look at them every time I looked at my desktop!!
How about using some more curvy fonts!!

First off, its Movist, and the theme is on Deviant Art.
Don't jump to conclusions, Mac-Pro-Demon. You might be wrong.
Now that's over..
I thought VLC was the 'powerhorse' of video players for Mac. I was wrong. Its been absolutely shockingly bad at handling MKV's for me. Movist, I can fast forward, rewind, jump scenes, not so much as frozen pixel. Absolutely amazing software.
I've been using Plex and Movist for a while, they're pretty good. I'd the same impression with VLC!

I can't get along with Plex at all, I find it so unuseable. Don't you? I hate having to use they keyboard with everything.
There's one thing confusing me about Movist, in the Preferences, you can set it to display your iTunes Movies and TV Shows.. but it won't play them, b/c they're protected. So why bother showing them?
If it let you play Protected contect a la Plex, I'd dump everything but iTunes and Movist. Plex can, why can't Movist
I would have no issue paying for a copy, with out it, just not in print form. Too expensive for wallpaper

Plex is good only if you plug your computer in a HDTV or something else, personal use is not so good as simpler players, like Movist, VLC, Quicktime, etc.
Your problem with Movist may be because Apple does not allow other players to play bought stuff, if you import to your library a movie or tv show, Movist does recognize them.
I haven't tried with bought stuff tough.
