Maybe I'm Just Crazy...But I'm Painting My Apple Watch

Since I can't afford $10k Apple Watch Edition, this came across my mind. What if I spray painted my Sports Edition aluminum body with gold paint (don't care if it turns out matte gold, might look better to match my gold i6p).

Am I the only crazy person to think about this? Has anyone else thought about painting their new Apple Watch? If so, what color?

I'll be preordering the Sports Edition and will update this thread periodically. :)

I can't imagine that it would turn out good. Not to mention, it will probably scratch off pretty easily.
 
Please keep this updated as I'd love to see your process and the result.

Depending on your preparation, which is they key, and how well you apply the type of paint, this could be anything from horrid, thru to wow amazing.

Keeping the Paint on there long term with normal use would be another challenge. If there was a way of staining or coating the surface with a gold tone, that would be better.

Actually be pretty easy if the dam thing can stripped apart to just its she'll, but I suspect it may be glued, sealed and pressed together really hard.
 
How would you apply the paint without getting any on the screen in the front and the sensors in the back?

Go for it :D Good luck! If all else I'm sure that you'll be able to replace the case with something else soon enough. :)

And actually, a gold aluminum watch would be awesome. I wonder why they didn't. Everyone would know the real gold one is shiny.

I highly doubt Macrumors users are into sporting fake gold Apple watches. Just like we don't buy Dell laptops and put an Apple sticker on the lid to make it look like a Macbook.
