would you like the MBA KB on the MBP?

It's garbage. And it's backwards on the image.

The MB keyboard is terrible when it comes to keycovers and prolonged typing. And since it doesn't fix any of the problems with the old one let's just keep the old one.

I can attest to the keys popping off. I was using my MBP in bed and fumbled a magazine onto the keyboard and broke 3 keys.

Luckily, they were easy to replace, but $9 a pop. From a durability standpoint i vote chicklet.

What? The keys don't cost $9 a piece, you got ripped off buddy.

And they have never just popped off, in all of the 30+ MBPs and PowerBooks that I have seen and used, and fixed, and taken apart, etc. In fact, when fixing the books, they are quite hard to remove.

I'm less biased :p

I had a MBP from August 07 to March 08 and MBA till now. (MBP on order now again to btw)

Anyway Macbook Air keyboard is FAR superior in terms of typing and I love the look a LOT better... Seems to stay a lot cleaner as it's more difficult for hairs, etc to get into it.

I am even less biased than you, and it sucks. It still gets hairs caught in it, and you can't type on it with key covers.

my Core Duo MBP has an enter key just to the left of the arrow keys. it was replaced by an option key either in the Core 2 Duo model or when the keyboard was updated to have the media key layout.
My 2.6Ghz core 2 duo has a small enter next to the arrow keys?

Don't like the black look, I haven't used a MBP or a MBA extensively to make a decision on Chicklet vs more standard keys.

Well, I don't know. I still type better on my MBP and PBG4 than I do on my iMac's slim aluminum keyboard (which more or less has the same type of keys as the MB/MBA).

One keyboard I do miss a lot is the Onyx-colored one from the TiBook. Sexy. Plus, it was easy to replace because it lifted away by unscrewing the twist lock and releasing two small tabs.

Now if they could put an Onyx-colored keyboard on a MBP and keep the design the same as current with backlighting, I'd be in love.

cant lie...
an onyx colored keyboard would look wonderful

I stumbled upon this thread because I was trying to see if anyone had dropped an MBA keyboard into a MBP. I don't know if that is even possible, but I like the MBA keyboard enough that I wanted to know if I could...

I suppose that says it all about how I feel about the design!

Dropping a MBA keyboard into the MacBook would be a more likely and better looking solution IMHO. Especially since they use the same keys, and would give BlackBook users a backlit keyboard and such.

MBP Design, as i love the way the keys are slightly curved inwards, but i LOVE the black colour!
