So you would rather have full size DisplayPort, miniDVI or full size DVI? HDMI does not belong on a laptop it was not designed for computers and monitors it was designed for televisions.
Then why haven't we seen coax (lol), composite, S-Video or component on Apple laptops, ever? (Yes, I've seen S-Video on PC laptops, just like I've seen HDMI on PC laptops). This tells you something, no?

Please note Apple's design of late as I take it you have not done that from your post. Apple had the good design feature to use dvi and dvi+sound is hdmi. This ends my involvement in this thread as we just go round and round.
